Strategically, yes, but Snivy line's high speed makes it superior. Always getting the first hit counts.

He might be able to hit quickly but it's not going to be as strong as oshawotts or tepigs attacks.

so many stuff to consider, I still just like to choose my favorites.

ya its going to be a hard choice.

I'm leaning more for Oshawott but then again there is like so much water types in this generation so I might go for snivy.

either way it would be the start to a great team, I don't even know what pokemon I will have on that either. ^^;

I like all the Snivy line, the second evo of Oshawott (Dewott). Hopefully having a quick Pokemon like Snivy will help me with a balanced team.

No exactly, Serperior also has a dream world ability of Persevity( something like that) which switches attack and defense,(i forgot to mention that Serperior has a strong defense) so once those are switch all you have to do is use leaf storm and Samurott is gone.

Actually, not true. It causes stat reducing moves towards Serperior to actually cause it to gain the respective stat instead, and vis versa. That means you don't want Serperior getting hit by a Flattery or a Swagger.

The English names suck, so I'm just gonna call them their old unofficial names, still. Gonna nickname them accordingly, too. Anyways, I'm probably gonna choose Wotter, since there's not really any other good water types besides Seismitoad, but he's ground and I know I want Excadrill as my ground type.

Oh yeah, they should have made Samurott Water/Fighting instead of using Fire/Fighting for the third time in a row. :|

I've picked Snivy and Tepig and used them in my playthrough of White in Japanese, both are alright but I've picked Oshawott for my English Black playthrough because he seems the best in terms of appearance and overall stats in my opinion.
As for the rest of my team I've got it set out already, gonna use Scraggy for my Dark/Fighting type and Excadrill for my Ground type, Steel's a bonus there to. I'll decide the rest of my team as I play XD

I Have chosen Snivy becuase two of my friends chose the other 2 starters

I chose Snivy, mine is fully evolved now.

oshawatt. i love the final evo. also, why do people call it smugleaf, and some people call it snivy? snivy is the correct name for it. its in the dex.

Smugleaf was the unofficial English name give to Snivy by someone around here I believe haha.

Smugleaf was certainly not started at Supercheats, hahaha. It was sent around the internet as a meme when it still had a Japanese name.
