I chose Turtwig because, like Nyeem and Pooly said, his last form is an almost undefeatable tank. I got through the gyms easily.

i starter with turtwig because my friends and i did a test to see which was the best starter. I bet those suckers so bad Leaf storm took out Empoleon and Earthquake wiped the floor with Infernape

mine was chimchar becase I love fire type and I got the other two from gts so I have all three but chimchar is the best
