Can you breed pokemon in fire red? if you can, where?

ok i found it at the walkthrough (this is a copy of it)
Breeding is an essential thing to raising good Pokemon. There are many
advantages to it, such as passing new moves and TMs or getting multiples of
rare one of a kind Pokemon. Breeding is easy, all you have to do it beat the
Elite 4 and get to Island 4. There will be a breeding center there. Get a male
Pokemon and a female Pokemon in the same egg group and let them sit there.
Come back later and you may find an egg. Hatch it into a Level 5 Pokemon.

rika, and vulpix, after both of you finish up fire red, and know more stuff about it, wanna think about joining team untouchable ?

instead of gettin male/female, put a ditto inside and any gender pokemon, the baby pokemon will be the opposite gender of the parent pokemon =D this is how you get the whole Hitmon family and the Eon family (sadly not umbreon and espeon)
some pokemon cannot be caught and must be bred to be caught on pokedex (pichu magby smoochum elekid blah blah blah) it can also net you the higher-than-average IV's from its parent pokemon, and its possible to keep breeding until you finally hatch a pokemon with max IV in some stats =D it's awsome !!!
