well i wold have to say 2 kinds of starters...in fire redi go for charizard XD in ruby/saphire id go for MUDKIP!!!/swampert
but my favorite of all is my lvl 98 pichu with volt tackle,everstone so it doesent evolve XD,and thunder shock,strength and lightning bolt...i recomend pichu

, a level 74 lickatung, and a lvl 52 jynx...i have all legendary birds,dogs(trade) and well you know i have a mewtwo...make that team and you can pwn the elite four EASYYY!!!!

I can give you reasons why Squirtle = METAL!
1. His personality is the best. It is unique, not similiar to any other pokemon.
2. It's the only one that knows how to friggin party!
3. It's the prankster of the pokemon world. [remember the episode on tv featuring the Squirtle Squad?]
4. It's loyal, and awesome.
5. It's a blue turtle! Doesn't that say enough? lololololol
