What is the significance of it? Is there a secret once you find it? Is there something in it? I found it, but it appears empty.

using mystery gift you can change the pokemon that appear in it.

Its only purpose is to alter the pokemon that is within it....Or its a cave full of crap. idk, I never done this before.

as far as I remember there not much there, However for the japanese one it has a rare pokemon there. But not in the others.

In the Japanese game, it contained Mew, or so I've heard. Unfortunately, Nintendo doesn't want other nations to get pokemon like Mew that easily, I just assuming. I haven't heard anything about the mystery gift part, sorry.
