Your Favorite Johto Feature

Yeah, so what's your favorite feature that was exclusive to Johto? This includes the TMs, berries, cities, events...everything.

I loved nearly everything about Johto games. Especially the little sub-plots within the Kanto region, like fishing for the machinery part and interrupting Misty's date... Oh yeah, and the Clefairy thing on Mt. Moon. I don't remember much about it, but it was a nice addition, in my opinion.

Simply put: Kurt.

Who doesn't want to waste their time making small capsules out of berries?

I liked, actually LOVED, National Park.

Also, did anyone else ever find that 'secret' part of the boundary in National park that you could go through and explore the edges of the park to find some stuff, including TM Dig?

^Nope, never did find out how to get there.

I enjoyed the huge battle with Team Rocket between the sixth and seventh gym badges, involving the whole radio waves making the Red Gyarados go insane. Good fun, and lasted a long time (if I remember, you had to beat the out of their base, then the Underground, and finally the Radio Tower).

Introduction to Eggs being made from the Daycare Center. That has to be the best part about the whole game series.

And yes Volke, you remembered properly. haha As for that little broken fence, it was towards the upper right corner of the park.

The Whirl Islands were cool and all, but you never know, they might make it harder for us to navigate that, and the Tin Tower.

@Latias: I loved Kurt, lol. It took me awhile to really appreciate him, though.

@Dissociate: YES. National Park was awesome! It'd be cool if you could catch Bulbasaurs or Chikoritas in that bug-catching contest, though I doubt they'll include that. ):

@Volke: Yeah, the radio tower saga was pretty fun. Long, too; which I liked. I don't remember much about the Team Rocket fights, but I remember they entertained me.

If they make the Tin Tower and Whirl Islands even harder, I'm gonna be seriously p*ssed.

Kurt, the fact both of the cover Pokemon are in the games, & that you can get a shiny in every game.

You know how you get the Red Scale after you square off against the Red Gyarados? Would you trade it for the Exp. Share that Professor Elm's assistant is offering you? Honestly, I think I'd rather keep it, even if it doesn't benefit me. The Red Scale is like a trophy; you can't do anything with it, but you love it because it reminds you of your victory. You know what I mean, Coach?

I'd have to agree on things like the bug-catching contest and the Team Rocket Fights; I don't get the same vibe fighting the new teams as I did with the Rockets.

No, the originals are always the best. Just like the remakes probably won't make as much of an impact on younger kids these days as the original games did on us. That's what saddens me about remakes, honestly.

But you know, I hope they leave some of the electronic-sounding BGMs in. Those were really nice, like the National Park's theme. (I remember because I downloaded it to my iTunes library.)

I absolutley loved it when a dude gives you a Spearow to deliver to some guy, and the Shuckle that you temporarily get to keep. That was good for filling up the Pokedex. Oh yeah, and it was cool how you had to give the Miltank berries and Amphy the medicine.

One of my favorite as well.

I liked the bug catching contest, exceot I'd always lose.

I think incorporating Time was a great feature. You actually waited until Tuesday.

But since you can change it on the DS menu, it won't be as glamorous as it was.

You don't have to change the time. ;)

Oh yeah, I remember the Shuckle thing! That was pretty cool.

Other things I liked.. Bug Catching Contest, Kurt, introduction of eggs, etc. ;D

Blackthorn City was pretty cool, and the ice cave and routes around it--especially the Dragon's Den.

I really liked everything about the johto games. Like the bug catching contests, catching a red gyarados and much more.

Seriously the best region out of the 4. I don't know what happened, but Pok�mon games just didn't end up as fun after that. ):
For the portable systems, anyway. The stationary Pok�mon games were pretty fun.

I was never bothered about Kurt and his PokeBall-making. He could have chosen somewhere easier to live, though (I never used Fly and Kurt lived in the most out-of-the-way town in the game).

I wonder if they're going to use the old Johto animations for the attacks...?

Maybe the radio feature? There are some cool soundtracks on it.
