Well we have some new info on some of the events in HG/SS:
Arceus - When you trade the movie Arceus to HG/SS from D/P/Pt. you make it you partner & go to the Ruins of Alph where you unlock a new area called the Shinto Ruins. You go in & meet Cynthia then Arceus lets you choose either a Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina egg for it to create for you. Then a bunch of Unown surround Arceus (purpose & details still unknown.)
Pichu - Take Pikachu Colored Pichu to the Ilex Shrine & the Notched Ear Pichu pops out from behind the shrine. Then an old man shows up & tells you why the Pichu appeared. The Notched Ear Pichu also has a different sprite than a regular Pichu, which shows it's unique ear & it has a different pose.
Jirachi - You get it from D/P/Pt. & it unlocks a new area on the PokeWalker where you can get some new stuff.
Well, my AR's gonna be busy when these games come out! ^__^
Also, the box that has the Pokemon's name, HP, & level in a battle is new, it's a gray & white trapezoidal shape. There will also be new battle music.

About Arceus... You said you have to trade the movie Arceus over. But can it be a legitimate, in-game-caught Arceus?

It depends if you consider using an Action Replay being legitimate. I would, so yes.
