If you beat a legend and don't recruit it, does it disappear like in the other games? The way I've been doing it, I save at the place like 3 floors away from the legend and if I don't recruit it, I just start over the game.

You can try as many times as you live from what I've heard. I've versed Zaptos and Moltres numerous amount of times, and the same with Groudon, so I think you can battle them more than once. However, I would stick with your way since it saves you the money and items.

Yeah but I don't get the experience from the fights. It's faster though because you start at the Kanghaskhan thing instead of having to go through the whole dungeon again.

Yea, you can battle them more than once. I know this because when I recruited Zapodos, and Moltres it was after I beat Raquaza.
A friend will bail you out of jail. A true friend would be there right next to you saying, That Was Awesome! Lets do it again!

you can battle them infinitely... unless they join you. if you kill them then come back later, like for the birds after you beat the game, you can battle them over and over and over again.

Yes you can. So, take that to your advantage. Why don't they let you battle a legendary more thatn once in any other game though?

Definatly. All you have to do is weaken it. But not in Mystery Dungeon. No, you have to beat it with the final blow comming from your leader, and your leader has to be in an ajectent space, and it's still luck if they join THEN.
