I like having this many new pokes, but a lot of them are just ugly evolutions of old pokemon, evolving in new, strange ways.

I agree, 151 is plenty. Is G/S/C They only added 100, in Ru/Sa they added 135 (including deoxys), so this is the most since red and blue.

151 is definitely enough! IF you look back at the old games, almost every single one had 150 new ones.
He-isn't it odd that in the old games (for example Aipom) the pokemon stop, or don't evolve? Well, now they extended them! How can they not evolve in the old shows then? Aipom never evolved-now he can evolve (remember only in THIS region) into Eteboosu! How odd is that?
