The Origin of Giratina

Yeah, it would be. But yeah, I don't know how he will transform, so all I can do is make up ideas. Does anyone else have one?

Didn't Serebii confirm that when you catch it in Platinum it'll be in it's Origin Form and when traded over it will transform to it's Other form?

Yeah they added a new feature thing about different forms for Pokemon.

Lol, there's gonna be loads of better ideas, but this idea was most probaly easiest for Game Freak to do.

Guess so. I wonder if Giratina is tied in with Shaymin.

I doubt it, there completely different, and Game Freak is most probaly focusing more around Giratina than Shaymin.

Yes, Giratina is the main project, Shaymin is more of a background thing. But, you never know, he could calm Giratina down if it goes into a rampage...

But, you still can't catch Shaymin without an event, so you can only get it from an event, if you had it already in D/P and if you use cheat codes.

Yeah, that sucks. But we're gettin' kinda off topic. I hope tha game explains where Giratina came from well.

Heres my two cents:
I think that Giratina represents death, hence that it appears in an ancient cemetery. Giratina seems like it is based on a basilisk, which causes death by a glare.
Now, for the origin, remember, this is just a theory:
Since Palkia and Dialga are Arceus' halves, what is Giratina? Giratina may have been created to balance out thw two. Dialga and Palkia represent Time and Space, which is pretty much the fabric of reality. arceus represents the world, in my opinion. So, with Dialga and Palkia usually fighting, Giratina must be used to put an end to that fighting, much like Rayquaza. Death usually represents the end of things.

Well, that's my theory =P.

I actually like this theory. I makes sense. He mighta been made to balance light and dark. This actually makes sense in that like you said, death usually means end. He has 2 purposes I think, one like you said, to calm Dialga/Palkia and to control death and darkness in the universe.

Woot, someone actually made sense out of it XD. I was worried people wouldn't.
And yep, whe'll just have to wait and see what his purpose is. Platinum might provide us with answers.
Oh, and his type might actually prove a bit of my theory. He is part ghost, so, that could make sense.

I like that theory as well. Its possible that he was created to stop the two from fighting, but we never hear about them fighting. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

They were fighting in the Movie "The Rise of Darkrai" and are possibly fighting again in "Giratina and the Bouqet of the Sky".
