Okay I'm trying to trade pokemon to my gold but it wont let me. It says that i need to talk to my friend. Can anyone help??

Make sure that the Pokemon in the Gold version are not holding any items. Also, some Gold version moves cannot be sent to Red, Blue, and Yellow. and, of course, you can't trade any steel types.

Make sure you have a link cable.

You need a link cbale and make sure your not tradin any types or pokemon that are 2nd gen cus they wont exist on pokemon red
