he lies about things. i found a shiney on ruby and traded it over to sapphire, it was the prevo of vigoroth (im drawing a blank, sloth something?)

It's true that there is a 1/8192 chance of finding one. But even after finding 8191 there is still a 1/8192 chance of a shiny. I have a number of shiny pokemon. They are:
Electrode: blue instead of red
Metapod: gold instead of green
Dustox: gold and purple
Smoochum: bright pink
Sandslash: brown with red spikes
Crobat: Bright pink
Smeargle: grey with green tail
Tentacool: Blue instead of red
I think thats all
