Best Legendary?

In an undying quest to revive the Pokemon Sapphire forum, I have decided to use a Legendary Pokemon thread.

So as the title indicates, what do you believe is the best of the legendaries?

Don't go into the 4th generation Pokemon. Save that for the Diamond and Pearl forums.

I have to side on Rayquaza and or Groudon.

It's Groudon. Due to his stats, movepool and his best moveset, he's not only the best Hoenn legendary, or the best Hoenn pok�mon, he's THE best pok�mon.

If you wish for me to explain then please, just ask.

Mewtwo, Lugia and Ho-oh are the very close runners up, but none are Hoenn pok�mon.

I, of course, have to argue the side of Kyogre. His ability to Thunder at 100% an' his lovely sp. stats make him rather nice. Groudon an' Kyo can beat each other. It depends on circumstances, so you can't say one can beat the other for sure.

I hate it when n_d does this, especially when I first open up the thread...

Yeah, Groudon is good, but it is possible for Ky to beat him. Ray, however, doesn't stand much a chance against Groudon with Rock Slide, especially if Groudon also knows Swords Dance.

Anyway, back on Ky, it depends on which is slower. The fastest pokemon sets its ability in first, and since there can only be one weather effect at a time, the last one set in the battle would have effect.

If Groudon were slower, then it could Solarbeam away at Ky. But if, instead, that Ky was slower, it could use its amplified Water-attack (which for anyone with half a brain on Pokemon would be Surf, Hydro Pump, or Water Spout) and murder Groudon. But even if Groudon were still slower, Ky could use Ice Beam, and possibly freeze Groudon, leading Kyogre to victory.

Groudon and Kyo would be a draw..you can't really tel which one would win.It would still depend on their stats.

Isn't that basically what I just said?

no way could groudon beat kyogre. don't get me wrong groudon is t3h ub3r r0x3rz but kyogre would beat him purely because of type, level 100 groudon vs. level 100 kyogre...I think kyogre's faster than groudon, so 1 ice beam (or blizzard) would probably knock him out wouldn't it?

^laxgodx, read the last two paragraphs in this post thoroughly.

Water Spout wouldn't be a good move for Kyo 'cause if Groudy plips him with an attack, it's not gonna do much damage with or without the rain.

Hydro Pump might kill Groudy in one hit, with or without rain, but you take the chance with lower accuracy. Surf will take 2 hits regardless of rain.

Ice Beam an' Blizzard would also take 2 turns to kill Groudy.

Earthquake can kill Kyo in 2 hits. Don't waste time with Swords Dance 'cause it will then take longer. Each would have at maximum 2 turns to attack.

This didn't quite work as I hoped. I'm going to expand the meaning of the thread. Make it ALL legendaries now.

Oout of all legendaries? I'll say Mewtwo. He's got good stats an' a good movepool.

I agree with SGX Mewtwo pwns them all...well Mewtwp VS Rayquaza? who would win? If you want we could call RJ to decide

mewtwo is the best for power unless its deoxys in strength mode

whot u on deoxys's atck at lvl 100 is normally at least 400

I resent that. It depends on what form Deoxys is.

If it's Attack or Defense, Mewtwo could meet its match.

If it's Speed or R/S mode, Mewtwo will kill it.

Attack he could win, Defense I don't think so.

i'd say lugia, since the pokemon mentioned thus far can't even take down blissey without sweating a whole lot, but lugia can outstall it (but then donny kanes lugia hands down, so sigh)
