FreezShock's Pokemon Battling / Team Building Advice Workshop

Introduction: Hello, Young (at least in heart) Pokemon Trainer! Er... Excuse me for being so behind on the trends these days... I should be saying Alola! Anyway, I am FreezShock, a Competitive Pokemon Battling Veteran, and it is your lucky day! For I, FreezShock, have decided to lend a helping hand to those new to training Pokemon or new to battling in the wide realm of Pokemon. Do not be intimidated, I am really not a perfect trainer either ? no such thing exists! I wish only to impart my knowledge of Pokemon?s strengths, weaknesses, abilities, moves, and more!

How I Can Help You...
Team Building: I love building and creating Pokemon Teams specifically for battling. It has been a hobby of mine for quite some time, and I have more than enough experience and wisdom to go around. From Singles to Doubles to Battle Royales, from Smogon Competitive Tiers to defeating your best buds in a battle for fun, I can help you build the perfect team. I can suggest to you the best Pokemon for the job at hand, as well as even with the six Pokemon you are wanting to use.

Battling Advice: In addition to helping you build the perfect team for your needs, I can also provide key in-battle advice. Whether you are looking for a good strategy for your newly designed team or struggling with a given trainer or team, I can help! I will need to know the details of the Pokemon you are having trouble with or the other trainer's team to help for the latter situation, but from there, I should definitely be able to assist you.

A Few Rules I Must Establish...
I Can't Incorporate Unreleased Pokemon: Your team cannot include Marshadow, Ash-Pikachu (Pikachu-Wearing-Cap), or Eternal Floette as of now. (Hopefully the Pokemon Company releases them one day, preferably soon.)

I'm Not Always Online & Teams Take Time To Design: I have a life of my own and may not be able to process requests quickly! I will try as much as possible to be quick, but for the sake of not rushing a team, I require about 3 days minimum.

I Only Design Teams & Give Advice: You can request to be my friend, but I will not train and trade your teams. That is not my specialty, not my hobby, not where my greatness lies.

If You Need These Designed Teams Turned Into In-Game Pokemon...
Refer To Warrior13's Pokemon Give-Away Workshop: Warrior13 is the local Pokemon Master who use to play competitively as well, but now spends his past-his-prime days fulfilling trade requests of Pokemon Trainers across the globe. His Pokemon are 100% Legitimate (not like so many hackers these days), having stockpiled Pokemon and Events since the 3rd Generation, and he is so willing and kind to give these Pokemon away from absolutely no cost. After having been given help from me, you can turn to him with the Pokemon you need and he will most likely help you. Even with the most specific, detail-oriented requests, he is sure to help! You can visit his Pokemon Give-Away Shop by clicking This Link!

Thanks! Quick questions:

1) How do I tag somebody?
2) How do I get Showdown picture files onto SC?

1) To tag some, use this format: @"ExampleUsername" Simply, obviously, switch username with the members exact username. If the username is not correct, it will not work.

2) I usually take a screenshot, save it to my computer and then upload it with Tinypic.com. Remember to use the [img][\img] code tinypic gives you.

There you go. ;)

First thing I'll do is offer a Rain OU team up that I've had much success with:

Pelipper must be protected, he keeps our Rain control alive. Xurkitree capitalizes with a mighty Scarfed Thunder. Gastrodon counters Electric-types and opposing Water-types. Kartana benefits from rain and counters Ferrothorn with Sacred Sword. Ash-Greninja has priority and a mighty Hydro Pump in final form. Araquanid tanks hits and deals with Celesteela with Rest to remove Toxic and heal.

The team is currently my best OU tier team, just takes some practice to get used to! Enjoy!

Does Mystic Water see a power loss on Greninja with Specs? Or does water balance it out?

Life Orb is a fair option, losing the HP is just so unfortunate. This team's only true sweeper is Kartana. Greninja just needs to be flexible.

@FreezShock I have a Hasty nature greninja w/ 252 sp.att/252 spd/4att

Its moves are:
Ice beam(for grass types)
Dark pulse(Powerful STAB)
U-turn(for scouting out)
Water shuriken(STAB)

Is there a more powerful water type attack to replace water shuriken
I would use hydro pump but its accuracy is way too low
can I get some help? BTW i only have Pokemon Y so any 7th gen moves i wont be able to use

OK MohNaj , first thing: Water Shuriken was changed to being a Special move in Gen 7 after originally being Physical in Gen 6. Since you're in Gen 6, Water Shuriken isn't as great, it's better for Ash-Greninja to get a priority kill for Battle Bond. Scald is a great option over Shuriken, and I prefer it for Protean/Torrent Greninja (Which is what you have I assume).

I use Hydro Pump on the water team because with rain up Hydro Pump does 1.5x damage, coupled with Ash-Greninja's 153 Special Attack. Ouch. Soaked through. Still glad Greninja is OU. If Tapus are, so is my Kouga!

Sure, could you tell me your team?

Scald is a TM found in (XY) Couriway Town's Hotel. Talk to a schoolgirl in the lobby and she will give it to you. (who knew only Panpour, Simipour, and Volcanion get Scald by level-up? Everyone else gets it by TM!)
