I was told at school today there was a sword in the game that was VERY well hidden in the chapter after rescuing ashley. I wanna know if this is true. Also, how do you get the chainsaw? Or do you need a certain controller?

There is no sword in the game (that you can use as a weapon) only your knife and the knife you take after the first fight with Krauser.
The chainsaw is a Ltd. Edition controller, it's rubbish the buttons are foul placed and the control stick is off mid point.
