As most of you probably already know RE5 will include co-op which will allow you to play online with someone or on the same console with a friend. I really like this idea particularly the online co-op although I guess it depends on who you're playing with, this other person could decide to take a lot of the pickups such as ammo for themselves or not help you out when you need it.

So what do you think of this addition to RE5?

I just hope they don't screw things up by making some things only unlockable if you meet certain requirements on Co-op mode. The reason being is that I'm useless at Co-op modes in any game and I'm not sure I'll have anyone to play Co-op with anyway, except online.

It depends on where you stand, I guess. I think it's a good addition, but I don't think that it should be essential that you play it to unlock anything, if you follow me. Perhaps an alternative option to unlocking, say, a powerful gun, that can also be unlocked by other (single player) means.

Yeah I know what you mean but I don't think they've done anything like that for unlocking new weapons and equipment but I'm pretty sure some of the trophies may require you to play co-op in order to unlock them.

Forgot about the Trophies. I suppose you're right there. Usually I like to obtain as many Trophies as possible, so hopefully one of my friends will like the game. I convinced him to buy it when it's released (March 13 for Europe last I heard).

It seems it will help a lot with the bosses as it will require teamwork to beat them.

If you're playing as Chris and Sheva dies or vice versa it's game over. You can heal your partner and they can heal you while you're alive and you can also trade items and weapons with eachother. That's why it would be very useful playing with another person they will have mor of a chance of staying alive that if the AI was controling the second character.

It's going to happen no doubt about it. It would probably be best to play through on your own first and get used to the game before playing online with anyone. Especially when it comes to the bosses as some of the require some strategy.

The co-op is pretty good as long as you're playing with someone who's ACTUALLY PLAYING and doesn't get themselves killed on purpose, but single play is pretty good too.

I tried the online co-op today and it's pretty good but the only download is letting your partner down by dying. This is what happened to me on professional mode.
