ok i liked the first game and i want to get the new one but my L and R buttons dont work and i was wondering if you use L and R in the new game allot?.

Well when your in a battle L is used to lock on to your opponant and R is to unlock from the opponant i think

yeah. you use the l and r buttons to lock onto targets and to unlock. they are really hard to hit without locking on. but its not immpossible.
EDIT: i almost forgot! you also use those buttons to switch tools in digging up fossels.
