It depends on the Forum that you wanna Mod; at the top of the Forum if it says "Apply to be a moderator of this forum" as a link - click on it and explain why you'd make a good Mod.
If there's no link, there's no need for a Mod for the Forum because it may not be busy/popular or there may already be enough Mods for it.
As for being a Pro - I don't know if they're still doing that anymore, but it depends on your quality of answers to questions!

Talking about it will not increase your chances. All caps and oversized text will decrease your chances. Having more than one user name will also decrease your chances.
