How are you? A "I wanna be good with a Top Tier character so I can pwn people!" Or are you a person of "I'm good with this character, and those Tier charts do not mean anything!" person? Tell me how you are.

i choose characters because

1) I have Fun using this character (Toon Link, Link, Pit, Ice Climbers, Luigi) Everyone knows Luigi is awesome XD

2) i happen to be good with them (metaknight, Luigi, marth)

As a rather fanatical casualfag, the day I choose to play as a top tier character simply because they're top tier is the day I snap my SSBB disc in half and use the jagged edge to cut my own throat. I'll keep my Meta Knight, ROB and Captain Falcon, but I'll keep them because they're awesome, not because the tourneyfags say I should keep them.

I don't even get why there are even Tiers. If those Tier people would look at some of the vids on YT, they would plainly see that skill outdoes any tier list, period!

I dont listen to tiers, i think they mean nothing.

Tiers mean nothing. I play Sonic a bottom tier character. And am awsoem with him and can easily beat anyone who plays pureley becuase a character is in a tier.

Well i play Olimar. High Tier decided to main him ever since he was announced.

Tier does tell us whos better or easier to use in the game, but I think you could be good with any character.

Who's the supposed Top Tier in this game? Pit, or Fox? Something like that?

Back in Melee I was never good with Fox, or Marth. I could handle Falco, but I was best with Link.

I never bothered paying atention to those tier things everyone does,makes no sense to me

Yeah makes none to me either, people choose characters because there suppose to be better then others.

lol, I never even knew about those tiers, so I'm just the kind of person that doesn't care about tiers.

Tiers do not matter to me, but they do make a good reference for people that want to find a main character.

I mean, look at me. I main as Zelda (Lower Middle), but yet I use high tiered characters a lot as well (Lucas, Toon Link, Lucario, Marth, Pit, Wolf...).

Guarenteed I would never think that Lucas or Olimar were good if I never had to actually construct the tier list myself.

Conclusion: It helps, but it's never going to be fully accurate. So don't base your character choice on it. Use it more as a guideline.

Ok everyone is saying tiers don't matter and thats fine. However the reason you think that is because tiers don't matter to you because you are not at the skill level the pro's of ssbb are at. There is a certain point you can reach with a charicter and hardly get any better, however some charicters point that you can reach are higher then others, this is where tiers come in. But you as just a simple player of ssbb are do not even touch some of the pro's out there, you havn't even reached that point where you can hardly get better with your charicter, meaning tiers don't matter to your play because your not amazing at the game.

(Also just to note I am not at all saying I'm a pro either, meaning when I keep mentioning pro's I'm not talking about myself. The ssbb players I'm talking about would probably whipe the floor with me)

Also tiers are based on how charicters trump other charicters. Example; lets say kirby is good against 25 charicters in the game and not bad against the others, that would help his case a lot as far as tier goes, anyhow I think you get the picture I won't go any deeper with that.

So in conclusion we can say that since we are simple non-pro players tiers probably don't matter to are play, however to sit there and say "tiers are gay, they mean nothing" is a insult to the ssbb pro players. Am I saying to always pick top tier charicters? No that is not at all what I'm saying, however I am saying tiers do matter.
