What makes Falco 'better' than Fox?

People say Falco is higher tier/just plain better than Fox. What makes this so? They are quite similar but with their own advantages and disadvantages.

I prefer Fox for his faster laser to rack up quick damage, his constant reflector, his crazy-legs
Fair, and his longer Fire Fox.

So what you guys think?

I just prefer Falco cause his fighting style and he packs a bit more power than Fox.

Pros for Fox:
He is quick
Longer recovery
faster laser
reflector is one of those ulnlimated ones

Cons for Fox:
No chain grab
no spike
has pretty weak knock back power
Weak KO power

Pros for Falco
Can chain grab
Reflector can be used to stop combos
amazing spike
Pretty fast
has amazing KOing abilties with his Up smash
laser has a knock back to it

Cons for falco
kinda easy suicide
reflector doesn't last that long so easy to hit with projectiles firing fast


Thats why Falco is better

Fox is Fast but weak attack, Falco is Slow with stronger attacks.

here's what I think if you divide it into categories

tilts:fox has the superior tilts in all directions and his up tilt is a good juggler

smashes:falco get the advantage here because his side smash has much more hit range and more power,and his up smash is a little bit faster,down smash is the same for them just looks a little different

aerials:falco has the superior dair(which spikes),and bair,which has more range.but fox does have the better nair,uair,and fair

specials:this is probably the hardest one to judge since both have a good set of b moves.falco,s laser stuns the opponent for a second but comes out a little slower.fox laser does not stun at all,but comes out very fast.falco's b> imo goes a little farther than fox's,and falco's can also spike opponent if their damage is high enough.foxs b^ is >>>>>>than falco that's all I have to say regarding that.and finally falco's reflector does have some advantages since it has properties of a slingshot,but I like fox's more since you can still you the shine spike made famous from melee,although the move has been nerfed somewhat

taunts:falco since he mentions food a lot :D

final smash:falco,because his can stay in the air longer

Falco is not slow i have been able to keep up with people who use Fox while i am falco

I hate Falco so much, people just basicly Fire a stupid laser and THEN Chain Grab you and then just spike you. Even though people WILL NOT admit it, firing a laser doesn't take 'skill'.

and dodging the lasers does not take much skill either

i like both actually. Falco packs a spinning kinda kick with more damage. Though fox is very much alike him. Though my chracter to fight with is Snake.

Simply because you've been able to do something doesn't in anyway contradict any fact or opinion given. You should start making points and justifying them rather than deny anything with a "but i dids it!". It's getting incredibly irritating and slows discussion immensely.

Falco vs Fox: A quick rundown...

Movement Speed: Fox wins. He is much faster in movement, but this ultimately leads to more SDs.

Attack Speed: Very similar.

Attack Power: Falco KO's at slightly lower damage percentages.

Lag: Similar. Neither character really lags.

Combos: Falco has superior combos. This includes chain-grabbing, something Fox cannot do.

Recovery: Similar. Falco has a superior double jump, but a less effecting UpB, though most people recovery with SideB anyway.

Spikes: Falco has (arguably) the most effective spike in the game. Fox cannot spike.

Weight: Falco is heavier than Fox. Fox is KO'd at around 80%, while Falco can last in the 100%s.

Blaster: Falco has a superior blaster from the recoil that players take. Fox's blaster is relatively useless.


That's it in a nutshell.

I think that with the mention of Falco's spike(s?) and chain grab the discussion itself becomes a little stale. Take those for what they are - higher level play techniques - having a good spike Fox doesn't and a reliable chain grab makes Falco superior. I don't think that the basic "this clone is slower but stronger, etc." argument plays into it much at all.
