I got a problem in the Thieves Guild. When Im supposed too find the stranger I talked with a beggar in Anvil, and he told me to go to the abandoned house so I went there, there was a green marker pointing to his room upstairs. But when I went inside his room, nobody was there. The green marker still points to the middle of the room, but its empty. Is this a glitch or what have happened?

go at about half 9 to ten if u need to find him in his house.good luck

in anvil castle but he wont forge there so go between half 9pm and 10pm

The last mission in the thieves guild? Maybe I can help you, cause I have got the guide book (but it didnt show where the stranger is :() so you can ask me, maybe it says something about it in the book.

The book should have said that he is in Anvil castle. It doesn't matter though.

I still cant find the stranger!! ='( I have looked in his abandoned house every hour of the day, but he isnt there. The map marker says hes in the house but he isnt. Is it a glitch or what!?

In the Abandoned House in Anvil (located Between Silgor Bradus' House and the Anvil Mages Guild) you can find an Imperial male identified only as A Stranger.
The Stranger is used to forge letters in the Thieves Guild quest, Taking Care Of Lex. Finding the Stranger can be difficult, because he spends a lot time wandering. On weekdays, it is possible to find him sitting across from the Countess in Anvil Castle.

I have got an similar problem again =/. In Arrow of Extrication I am supposed to talk to Gray Fox in Chorrol but he isnt in the house where my map marker points to.

Yeah, I know he should because I did it with my friend on his game and he was there. But on my game the map marker points to the middle of the room but nobody is there
