Sims 2 is slow to load and wont play well??

Hi all im new here but yu all seem to be a great source of info!

I installed Sims 2 for the first time last night on my pc and it runs slow, things like scrolling from room to room take forever.

I have Windows XP and there isnt loads installed on the pc, it has good memory free and is only a few years old.

Can someone suggest anything at all im gutted because i LOVE the Sims! but at the moment i cant play it.

i have the same prob but ilearned to djust and wait just wait iknow iknow it will take a very long time but if u love this game u will wait

The problem is that either you have low memory on your computer or you have viruses on it. I had the same exact problem. If your computer's memory is low that you could take it to a store where they'll add memory to your computer. If you have viruses on it then you could ship it away to get it fixed.
