Highway Robbery?
"At this point it is uncertain if the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 versions of SvR 2008 will have downloadable content, but the possibility is better than ever. Did THQ/Yukes give us a small roster on purpose? Are they planning on releasing more playable superstars on the Xbox Live Market Place and PlayStation Network? Are they expecting to charge money for obtaining more playable superstars?
If this is the case, it's a damn shame because first of all, there is absolutely no reason why "next gen" consoles have to be stuck with a PS2 sized roster. Why is it that the 360 and PS3 have small roster sizes when their DVD media can hold a lot more data than the PS2? At this point we were expecting next gen SmackDown games to have larger rosters and more characters on screen. Why can't we ever get what we want? Why is it that THQ/Yukes always seem to hold back on the great things and concentrate on areas that do not matter? I for one will be mad to see downloadable content for SvR 2008 with a price tag. Many of us bought a next gen console so we can have our games more evolved and instead we get the same as older consoles."
Is it just me or are they making this game a joke? For a start I'll just say the graphics this year are absolute AMAZING. But... I know all of you are excited about the game, but I'm a little appauled. They offer PSP the most playable superstars and then want to charge people for a bigger roster. Let's see, 43 superstars + 7 legends isn't even as big as the original SDvsRaw and now with next gen cons out, they still give as a puny little roster and no doubt more match types than superstars and leave out the most important thing... current champions. For the 3rd straight year they promise us all the current champs and give us less than 50% of them. I mean... Rey and Batista as the WWE tag team champions? They forget a lot of things:
Cryme Tyme has just been released which is understandable and unpredictable.
Brian Kendrick and Paul London are not in yet again.
Current World Tag Team Champs, Cade & Murdoch, are missing.
Sabu is in, yet RVD is not despite being released way after Sabu.
Once again only 7 playable divas.
Gregory Helms has been out of action for a long time, yet he's in.
Hardcore Holly is in the DS version only.
The PSP boasts a larger roster than PS2, 360, PS3, DS, & Wii.
Johnny Nitro is not updated to John Morrison.
Trish Stratus did not make it into the Legends.
Kelly Kelly, a non wrestler, is playable, yet Maria who wrestles more often is not playable.
Victoria is MIA for the 3rd straight year.
ECW jobbers.
A lot of "must" legends imo.
Ok, I've said a little too much, but sure, I'll buy there game, because I'm a huge WWE fan and a playstation geek, but next time they promise (and I quote) "everything the fans want" "all the current superstars and champions" "The finest legends ever" shouldn't they think more about their product than what goes in their wallet when it's all said and done with.
Before you all bad mouth me, take a little moment to think... are THQ and Yukes getting, well, lazy?? And before I get started on the DS/PSP versions I'll stop :$ Thanks for reading.
