Go to the Graveyard (forgot what city it is in) and move the hedge stones until you find a hole. Drop in the hole, and race Dante, the gravekeeper . If you win, you'll find a treasure chest with the Hookshot in it.

Go to Kakariko Graveyard, to the East of Hyrule field (assuming Castle town is north), and begin pushing grave stones forward. Eventually, one will have a hole to jump into that leads to a tunnel. This will lead to to Dampes' (Dante? Dampe? Eh?) ghost. He will offer you a challenge in exchange for 'treasure'. Accept, race him, and gain the hookshot.
