http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/...wine_flu

So there's an outbreak of this swine flu in Mexico that has the potential to become a pandemic, there's already been a few cases in America & people are strongly advised not to travel by air. This kind of flu has the same symptoms as the regular flu. So is anybody scared this could become a pandemic?

Here's what freaks me out: There's this 'bug' that's been goin' around where I live for tha past little bit that a lot of people have had, I have it now (I'm gettin' better though and I just got is yesterday, but still). I dunno if this is the swine flu since the only American cases were in California & Texas, but I find it to be an odd coincidence.

I get a flu vaccine/shot every year, but a Q&A I read said that wouldn't help. But I think I just have a cold. I wonder if this is worse than the regular flu?

The vaccine can't stop it and a few people have died from it already.

I know it's not a subject to make light of, but this sort of thing always entertains me. As soon as there's any kind of report regarding a new illness, everyone thinks they've got it. Don't worry, OP, you're not going to die.

I'd better go, my flight to Madagascar leaves in an hour.

I find it entertaining too, suddenly any possible half sign of it, and everybody has it. And i live in Australia, and i haven't heard anything bout it round here so whatever.

Apparently the swine flu is closely related to the Spanish Influenza of 1918. I'd wager that we won't get something of the Spanish Flu magnitude as we've had so many medical advancements in the last 91 years but we could have a problem on our hands.

Flight? Madagascar doesn't have any airports. Just one port.

And it's probably closed by now.

^Possibly he lands nearby, and uses a boat for the rest of the way?

I see you saw this on "MSN Today" coach. :p Well I live in Cali, and there is nothing strange happening here, I am not worried about it.

Some kids at a private school in New York have it now, so that means it could spread. That can't be good.

Btw qwert, I saw it on Yahoo.

Great.......... Knowing that it already breached my home state, I'm starting to become afraid of this.

Closing the port does nothing to prevent me from parachuting in, my friend.
