1: I amaze me more than Vasco is amazed by Qwer.
2: Vas, small grammar probz.
If you want possible plural, it's team(s), not team/s
See me? See Vasco? See the other weird guy? We've gained a certain amount of popularity and respect on the site. Therefore, it's easier for people to be convinced for anything from us than it would be from a new member.
Here's the two main problems for team popularity:
a) In moderation, if you want to be noticed by the moderating team or forum people, you must be respected. In T&C, it's purely about popularity. No respect is really needed.
b) There are certain people who ONLY post in teams and clans. This causes a small dilemma:
Well known and respected members on the FORUMS might be almost completely unknown for MANY of the members who frequent teams. This means that if you are even the MOST known member on the forums and you make a team, you should expect that you might have a small team because you aren't particularly popular within the teams.
It works the other way as well. If you are well known in T&C, but are completely unknown to people who frequent the Forums, such as almost ALL of the members in
this topic with a low post count (You'll probably know that waffersforever, Ninetailed Fox and Forgotten_Scars post alot in teams, yet have BARELY a post count on the forums), are completely unknown to the people in the forum community, unless the members of the forum are in teams alot.
In raises the third problem, that probably many popular "burrows" (My term for people who ONLY post in teams) don't realize. Many burrows want to one day moderate the teams and clans that they hold so dear to themselves.
^ A note to them. If they don't have any respect on the FORUMS (since T&C respect means absolutely nothing in this sense), they will NEVER have a shot in modding the teams. Why? The most common reason being, you have to be a mod on the forums to be a mod on the teams. At least, that's how it is most of the time. The second reason, if regular members are legible to be mods, is because in order for a burrow to be a team mod, they have to be
nominated by a current staff member who frequents teams. Obviously, not too many mods frequent teams, and the ones who do, also frequent forums (of course).
What are the odds of being nominated AND accepted as a team mod? Close to none. Why? Because the majority of staff on the forums tend to stay away fro the teams. Of the 150(ish) mods we have on the forums, probably, oh, say, 20-30 are actively posting and checking up on the Staff Forum for situations. Of those 20 people, only 10 are active in teams. And of the 10 that are semi-active in teams, maybe 1 or 2 are (keyword)
popular in teams.
Take this for instance:
Vasco: Medium sized team. VERY respected and well known on the forums.
-T&C popularity: 4/10.
Qwer: Smallish team, also well known and respected on the forums.
-T&C popularity: 2/10.
Waffersforever: HUGE, GIANT team. He's completely unknown on the forums, however, therefore giving him zero people who are almost always on the forums and rarely in teams who respect him as a member (Other than people who frequent both forums and teams) and has no member of staff watching him, thinking, "He'll make a good T&C mod...".
-T&C popularity: 10/10.
Point being, if you just want to be popular in teams and make your own team big, you'll be spending the next 20 thousand posts you make in the teams of other members. If you want to ever MOD the teams, you'll need to gain that respect that you have there, over here.
As a fast wrapup, just note: None of the T&C mods have huge teams. Almost none of the T&C mods are "popular" in teams, and the burrows out there never have a chance at making a T&C mod.
