Colonization Wars RP

It is the Universal Year 1192. Humanity has developed long range space travel, increased their life expectancy by two hundred and fifty years, and generally turned Earth and its colonies into the very image of past science fiction novels.
With their new technology, humans have spread throughout the Milky Way galaxy. Several colony ships found inhabitable planets, one of which was already occupied, and its occupants were unwelcoming hosts. The aliens immediately attacked and destroyed the colonists and their vessel, and quickly erased all traces of humanity from the face of the planet.
Upon receiving news of the destruction of the starship, the Council of Earth sent half of the Terran Planetary Defense Force, aboard the TSS Blackhawk an imperator class gunship and troop carrier, and the TSS Anchorage a titan class weapons barge. The Terran PDF arrived and all of the infantry were immediately dropped in from high orbit. Because of misinterpretation of orders and general stupidity the TSS Anchorage did not open fire until the infantry had begun their decent. This caused heavy casualties on both sides and now, all of the remaining PDF troopers are scattered across the planet?s largest continent, dug in and awaiting orders that are not fourth coming.

Rules/Notes:
-Standard forum rules apply.
-You may create a PDF trooper or a naval officer, aliens will be introduced later, at which point you may create one of those.
-No more than two characters per person.
-This is fairly distant future so go nuts with the weapons, but try to keep it fairly ?balanced?.
-As with all my RPs, be reasonable.
-The Gunner, Marksman, Heavy Weapons Specialist, Castellan, and Scout are all equal ranks, merely separate designations
-If the first squad is filled a new one will be created.
-there may be and indefinite number of initiates/neophytes, but a new squad will be created when all other positions are full

Name: Captain Ricter Van Hadrian

Age: 36

Rank: Captain

Appearance: Ricter has very dull, emotionless, grey eyes that betray nothing of his thoughts or emotions, as does the rest of his tanned and battle scarred face. He wears a standard battle uniform and standard PDF combat armor in black with purple trim, and gold highlights on the breastplate and pauldrons.

Equipment: fragmentation grenades, mapping module, comm-unit, universal fortification kit.

Weapons: Mk. VI assault pistol, Officer?s sword, boot knife

Personality: Ricter appears emotionless, and most of his older squad mates as well as a few of his friends refer to him as ?The Robot?. He has a very commanding presence and is an excellent leader. Ricter also tends to act rashly and rush in without awaiting orders, and his lack of a rational side has nearly gotten him killed several times.

Bio: Ricter joined the PDF days before the beginning of the first colonization campaign, and so spent the first few years of his service on earth. During the third unification campaign he was called away to active duty off planet, and was assigned to the TSS Blackhawk. When he arrived at the potential colony, he was to lead his squad into sector Alpha-three and reclaim the TSS White November for refitting.

Name: Private Danko Hunter

Age: 19

Rank: Gunner

Appearance: Danko's young appearance has been damaged by fresh battle scars, as he only joined the army when he was 17, shipped to war when he was just 18. Scars aside he has short brown hair covering a small amount of his forehead, where he has a few spots. Danko is white and his tone of skin is tanned a small amount. He wears standard battle uniform that is nothing special, what with him not being of important rank.

Equipment: grenades, video-call pocket unit

Weapons: AK-223 Assault Rifle, boot knife, small laser-gun that can penetrate through anything, good for killing and good tool, has two modes: Gun Mode, where the laser comes out like a bullet, and Tool Mode, where the laser comes out slowly. Danko also has one more gun, his own gun that he had specialised for himself, it shoots out bullets that when they hit the enemy they are temporarily paralysed, for about 30 minutes to an hour. He also has specialised bullets that can paralyse permanently, but he rarely uses these.

Personality: Danko talks a lot and sometimes babbles on a lot, especially when he's nervous. This usually results in him talking in excessive amounts when on the battlefield, where he is most nervous. He is a friendly guy and not a lot of people dislike him.

Bio: Danko joined the PDF while colonisation campaign was going and went through hard training before being sent into fight. He joined the PDF because he was bored of normal life and wanted a challenge, and despite being just a Gunner in the forces he has a dream of working his way up in the ranks, but he knows this will requite hard work and a long time.

Accepted, but yes, you can have pretty much any kind of weapon, I'll let you know when you go too far, and provide suggestions for toning it down, so go nuts, I'm not sure a smg would get you very far.

Yeah, just added a small last gun and replaced SMG with Ak-47. :o

ok... Laspistol is fine, The AK-47 would be worse than useless though, being more than one thousand years old. If you want an AK go with the AK-223, It is the new and improved version, garenteed not not malfunction in anyway and compatible with all modern weapon attachments.

Name: Private James Patrick

Age: 15

Rank: Navy Gunner

Appearance: Standing at a good 6'0", James is a medium-build man, with two scars on his arms. He weighs a good 105 lbs. Usually in an Ocean Blue colored Navy uniform.

Equipment: A knife at his side, a map of the entire colonization.

Weapons:Akimbo(2) M1911SD pistol,Akimbo(2) MP5s with laser dot sights, AK-223 with Iron sights, Combat Knife

Personality: James usually has a smile on his face when he's relaxing or fighting. He's mostly happy. (Opposite of the dude from my roleplay XD.)

Bio: Born to a very poor family, James has had to go through some tough times. His parents both died of a strange disease when he was 5. He ran away from his home shortly after, on his 6th birthday. He was given a Combat Knife on that day. From that day on, he's been sad, but he always found a way to hide his sadness. He ran to a fighting school, where he was taught how to fight using a knife. He's somehow managed to cut his arm, where the scars come from, without even holding the knife. He was put into the Navy at the age of 14, and now he is on the T.S.S Anchorage.

pretty good, but you went overboard on the underpowered weapons, I'd suggest something more along the lines of the Mk.III PD/CQW Seriously people when i say go nuts i mean make something up, I'm looking for orgininality here eh? but whether you change it or not you're accepted.

Name: Zeke Gerands

Appearance: Zeke has a very complex appearance. With his mint green eyes and ragged light hair he looks as calm as can be, but scars cover most of his chest from the final judgment at the the Fighting Student Academy, the FSA for short, he is slightly husky but has a lot of muscle. Standing at a good 6'2" and weighing in at 175 pounds Zeke is a slightly average person in general... when it comes to appearance.
Equipment: Zeke always carries a package of RTEMP's (Ready-To-Eat-Meal-Pills), a picture of his 6-month old son and wife that he had to leave behind, and a thick rubber shirt, which he found useful for swimming in cold waters and for general protection.
Weapons: Zeke carries a brawling dagger, a combat knife, a small silenced precision pistol, and a gun that he simply calls "Death". Death shoots small poison pellets at a rate of 750 bullets/minute and visually unnoticed, kill the victim in less than 30 seconds.
Personality: Zeke is a quiet, suspicious man that is curious of everything but knows how to fight in battle. He is very smart and has accumulated much knowledge over the years, he joined the military at 21, after many years at the FSA, and he is known for his instincts.
Bio: Zeke was raised as a vey wealthy kid but was sick of his parents spoiling him, he ran away at 13, and lived on the streets for a while before enrolling in the FSA. He believes that these experiences made him the man he is today, and everyone he meets envy his brilliance although he only tends to show it when he really needs to. He graduated from the FSA at 20, and joined the military as soon as possible. He hoped that in the military he could extend his knowledge to others, and have the most thrilling experiences he could before death caught up with him. When he enrolled into the military he met his wife, a secretary for the TSS Blackhawk and fell in love. He was notified of his son 3 months into his first mission and expects to be a huge help to the TSS Blackhawk as his newest mission proceeds.

Hope this is good enough. This sounds really interesting.

That's what I was looking for! You are accepted, but one thing, you would be carring the rank of initiate until you earn gunner, where you would change to private. Welcome aboard!

Ricter awoke slowly, three days, he thought, three days, pinned down, and no sign of anyone coming to relieve us. We better push forward... Ricter sat up, "All right men, we're stuck here until Bravo Team takes out that AA battery. At least that is the theory, I say we push forward, the last thing those snipers expect is a run for their trench!" The captain then pulled out a map and began to outline the plan.
"We are here," he pointed, "The enemy trench is here," he pointed again, "A straight push for the trench would get us all killed, so say we go through here..." He traced a route on the map, it went straight through no-man's-land. "Any questions?"

"Uh, yeah. I have a question." the young battle scarred Private Danko began, "are you trying to get us killed?" he aksed half-seriously.

"No private, I'm trying to keep you alive," Ricter began, he decided against a lecture and got straight to the point, "Those snipers have got us pinned down, they could storm this place at anytime and not one of us would make it out alive. If we can get to the crash sites along the trench we'll be fine. It's only about a hundred meters..." The captain finished, he began checking his equipment. His pistol was loaded and as clean as it would get in all this dust, and his sword was in its usual place. Rubbing his hands through the dust his asked "Any other questions?"

Danko ran his fingers through his short brown hair, thinking about what Ricter had just explained and decided that the Captain was right. "No, sir." Danko said simply, "ready when you are" he added.

James was sitting on his 105 millimeter slug-shooter, looking down on the beach. All of a sudden he feels a large rumble come from the engine room, forcing his area out of place. It flies down to Earth, and he crash lands on the beach, more importantly on the AA gun, forcing an explosion to happen. He lays there, unconcious, and bleeding. The explosion caused all of the men around the AA to die, their bodies flying. Medics appeared on the scene, dragging him down to the trenches. There they layed him down on a table, starting to look for the initial source of the bleeding. Then they started to patch him up.

Minutes later after he was patched up only half way, he woke up. He looked all about, and coughed up blood. Great...my new, perfect shirt...ruined...My mom's gonna kill me when, and if, I get home.. James thought. "I don't want to die..." he said out loud. "You're not going to die, kid!" one of the medics replied.

((dude, as a navy gunner you would be in orbit, overseeinga lance battery on the TSS Anchorage so you would be providing heavy support from low orbit, not swimming around with 225mm cannon.))

"Alright, ready up!" Ricter said, "Don't stop 'til we hit the wreck, once we're there dig in, they'll hit us with evrything they got!" he added, drawing his pistol and peeking up, over the sandbags. "Three..."

"Done!" The medics said all at once. They helped James up, then helped him over to Ricter and the others. "You'll be fine kid, just stay here until they finish what they're doing. ((He was still where you guys were at.))

Zeke was calm at the prospect of charging the enemy trenches. He knew what he had to do and he understood what was expected of him. Zeke had barely said a word to the captain or to any of the surrounding soldiers. He patiently waited for the captain's command to charge.

"So...what's the plan?" James asked.

((Ok... gud nuff I guess...))

"What the-" Ricter spun when he heard the crash, and saw the AA battery had been anihilated by a plate that had fallen off the TSS Anchorage. "Damn..." He whispered. Ricter then turned to James, "You ready soldier?" It wasn't really a question. He reached for his radio, "Bravo Team, this is Fire Team Alpha, please respond."
"Bravo Team here, send traffic Alpha."
"The AA battery is down, call in Redhawk Gunships for air support and rally at Hotel Whiskey, Alpha out!" Ricter then turned to his team, "Alright boys, we got 'hawks inbound and Bravo waitin' at Hotel Whiskey, we need to move now!"
With that, Captain Ricter Van Hadrian jumped up, out of the foxhole, and bolted for the nearby wreckage of a downed Readhawk Gunship.

Danko saw Captain Ricter sprint off so he checked he had all of his weapons on him, which he did, and followed Ricter toward the Readhawk Gunship, running as fast as he could at the same time.
