Of course, that's why I made sure to say I thought 500 was average so I didn't look pathetic ;)
The Deadliest Monster, a worldview book based on Frankenstein and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, was only 250 pages but felt like about 1,000. Ugh.

Longer books don't always mean a better story. I tried to read a book that seemed interesting at first but then got boring so I never finished it, and it was less than 300 pages.

Fair point. I've found 300-ish to be a sweet spot for me, where from at least 200-400 I can be entertained for a while, but finish in a reasonable amount of time. I have yet to try a really long book (700+) though.

If you're interested, you could vote by tomorrow in the Championship for my Brawl. It's a tradition and I explain a little about the characters, so you can vote by looks and little by personality. Do consider, friend ;)

Keeping my interest in a book that long is a trick few authors can do. I find that Stephen King and Alan Dean Foster to be the ones that are able to keep a story interesting for that long. Whereas I tried reading Battlefield Earth by L. Ron Hubbard and didm't even get halfway.

I don't do the brawl thing.

Just wondering, no pressure and no big deal. Thanks!

Books with lots of little short chapters are my favorites, because then I can have lots of little stopping points. Or I can tell myself, 'just one more chapter' twenty more times until it's 1 AM and I'm dead tired lol

Very familiar to me, that situation, but not these days. It's more that reading a couple of chapters in a book tires my eyes out and makes it easier for me to get to sleep. I'm no night owl, that much I can tell you.

Gah, wish I wasn't a night owl, but I'm a teenager so that might be a part of it. Still, I just feel like I work better at night, never well in the afternoon, I get nothing done from noon to 4 it seems like :/

I guess I'm Spanish and need a Siesta? lol

Keeping myself up late is easy, but waking up early is more difficult. I like being out at night too. Probably just a teenage thing.

Well, of course, how many teen guys do you know that have never stayed awake the whole night playing video games?

Girls stay up late too, sometimes to play games sometimes to do other things.

Pretty much always been the type to go to bed ear;y, even in my teenage years. I generally don't stay up past 10 PM at the latest. Of course, that means I also get up early.

You didn't give me a letter, but the last one you typed was Y, so here. Yes, I know some girls like video games, but my sisters only do Minecraft. Then again, we only have a Wii, so if we had a console we used more, then maybe I could see them playing.

Wii is a good console. but most games are now being made for the Wii U and regular Wii games can be hard to find. I personally like the PS2, but then I've always been kind of a retro gamer.

The fact of how often I bring up Fire Emblem makes me feel bad now, but games like FE and Pokemon that have been around for 20+ years are always fun to play on online emulators, I've been meaning to finish FE4: Genealogy of the Holy War, the chapters are super long and the game is sooo tough. Like three characters died on the first level alone, and the game has permadeath. Pixelated games are refreshing to me, the Wii/3DS graphics are just cringy sometimes in their effort to be 3D, as they just lose a lot of quality because of the system restrictions. Oh well :/

Chris, shops near me still sell Wii games so I find them rather easy to find. I'm trying to get more Buzz! games on PS2.

Heck yes, I know. Gamestop is fine, but Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is $100+ EVERYWHERE. Trust me.

Gamestop... God I'm glad it's not around in New Zealand. EB Games is the big video game company here.

Gamestop here used to be EB Games. That's why the local shopping mall used to have two Gamestops. Eventually the smaller one that used to be EB Games merged with the larger store and now there is only the one. There's a clothing boutique where the EB Games used to be.
