I'm seriously considering it. I mean... I've beaten the second two in the trilogy and played through most of the first. But I only -own- the third game. And I wouldn't mind going back and playing through them all again... Only $40USD for all three games on one disc. That's insane.
Well I could buy the 3DS but the problem is that some of my games werent available in Europe so I bought them from the states. Which means I wouldnt be able to trade in my old DS to help pay for the new cos Id need my old DS to play my american games.

Thanx to Craizen for the sig, love ya babe, Hubby for the avi.
Actually there is, the PS3 costs a good deal to make so they probably made the decision to release a cheaper one without the backwards compatibility.
The technology for backwards compatibility wouldn't have added very much to the overall cost of the PS3. I guess that depends on your view of what's expensive though. The chip made the machines cost at most $30USD more, and even that is a little over-shot. I would have been willing to shell that much extra if I would have been able to still play -all- of my PS2 games. But I guess many PS2 games are being re-released on the PS3 now, so they're making up for it in some way.
Well the first PS3 cost around $300 and adding an extra 30 to that would have definetly discouraged more buyers. But then there are also people just becoming gamers or people coming from xbox so it's smart to release a cheaper product to these people because they wouldn't need the backwards compatability.
What annoys me is the new DS and PSP are region locked.
Did not know that, so how does being region locked effect/affect you?

That sounds like a mistake there, really limits you if you have games from other regions cause you either have to sell them all or just keep you old DS. If they get alot of complaints they might fix that though, so I would assume alot of people are in your situation or one similiar. You got pretty good chances probably.

Oh its no mistake! They region lock consoles for various reasons, the prime example being: to make sure we dont buy online in areas where the games are cheaper. THe advice I was given was to buy an American DS and a EU one to which my reply was...pffft you can keep you soddin 3DS matey.
