Sport, sport, sport, and possibly some sport. Oh, and maybe some more sport.
By sport I mean watching/following. I'm not athletic in the slightest. AFL, NRL (the 2 main Australian sports), Tennis, English Football (my team's in the second tier), & NFL.
Apart from that, the usual stuff like TV, games etc. I probably should be more active. Maybe one day I'll finally go down and try some tennis.

Why is it called Football in America? The only times a foot is used on the ball is for kicking FGs, punting, and kickoffs. And they're basically the things people care the least about.
Passball is a better name

But surely you see my point about the name of it. The aim of playing NFL is to move the ball into the end zone for a touchdown (also a reminder: the ball never touches the ground on a touchdown). You can't score a touchdown off a kick, therefore a foot isn't used. In soccer (called football in the UK) you score goals through kicking the ball into the net. In AFL (called football in Aus) you score goals by kicking the ball inbetween the large goalposts. In NFL (called football in the US) you score touchdowns by either passing the ball or rushing into the endzone.
^ The above is just one of my usual rants, in case you were wondering...

I don't know Matt, one of those things. Like why is a Boxing ring called a ring which implies a circle when the area of comabat is a square.
In the UK, US football is often referred to as Gridiron Football so it doesn't get cofused with football and Rugby. The Football part of the name in the US must have originated from it's Rugby roots during the 19th century before all the rule changes took place when the 'football' was kicked about a lot more. Don't quote me, I'm just guessing...
Through media studies, I discovered that I had a passion for filmmaking, to the point where I ended up preferring it over video games or anything else. i got a camera for photography class at the start of the year and found that it was great also for video. Then, probably as weird as it sounds, I was "guided" to pursuing it - one of my close friends also developed an interest in production, whilst I ended up getting a (currently small) group of people willing to work on something. Finished my last exam for high school on the 22nd so now it's on to tertiary education for me.
Problem is that I've now taken more of a hobby into film-making and watching other shows that I'm no longer as interested in video games, therefore I haven't got too much to say on the forum sites I used to frequent way too often, posting regrettable stuff from a time that i no longer allow to stick in my mind lol
Sounds like you've become an adult. I went through a similar thing, except my newly gained hobby was not a practical one. Watching and following sport can't really help me later in life
Crazy. Your Year 13 thing was actually real. I wish we had Year 13 now. I have to get a full-time job in 1 year's time...

Year 13 was helpful - I wasn't 100% on what I wanted to do so another year helped me realise. Plus, most of us weren't exactly comfortable with having to leave high school at 16 so, although everyone said different in year 10, a lot of people continued to year 13 haha.
Watching and following sport may not be something that helps you later in life (depends on what you do, though), but it'll give you something in common with quite a lot of people. If Australia is in any way obsessed with sport (primarily rugby) as New Zealand... Lol
