Well, it's not actually incompatible technically. It's more to prevent people from registering under other peoples names. Imagine I were to register as "Cross Stinger", and ran rampant around the board. You would get into trouble for my actions.
But that's not really the point. Nd said this forum is better than the old one, and that simply isn't true, however you look at it.

Nitrazius, that's not possible unless you hack or give someone your password. And the only reason why the old SC forums were 'better' �?? mind the quotes �?? was because it was modelled on vBulletin.
