Okay ... Getting Started?

I've just got a Wii today and SSBB

I'm planning to try kicking up a few SuperCheats Tournaments for this game eventually... But anyone got any suggestions for a good starter character?

Try Ike, Link and Pit.

And while your here, make a Wi-Fi forum for SSBB :p

Yeah, like Paul said Ike, Pit, and Link are good, strong characters. I prefer Fox too. It helps you control speed and fast attacks.

Thanks ... And yes, I will be doing something for the SSBB forums, on Monday, it is beyond what I can do because of the type of forum it is.

Fox is just a downgraded version of Wolf, who is very strong, but his smash attacks arent his strongest moves to send a person flying. But Once Wolf is unlocked, which you can do easily in the SSE (Subspace Emissary) You can unlock Wolf in the Ruins Stage, where Sharp Crystal Walls appear. This is later in the SSE though. But others would be Captain Falcon as well. He is pretty good at fights. Not as strong as Ganondorf, but faster. One other person i can recommend, Snake. Once he's unlocked, i advise using him. since you can get your opponent to like 179+ Damage quick and not let them even let them touch the floor as well. Being cheap with Snake is a fun thing to do :P And yes, to others, I used Olimar, he's alright. i just hate looking at him. >_<

Play as Meta Knight until you unlock Captain Falcon, then play as Captain Falcon.

NOT WOLF.

Olimar is the best character to start with, then get another main AS WELL AS OLIMAR.

Olimar may seem rubbish, but. He is not.

Olimar does take some considerable practice to be really good at.

Mario is always a reliable character, so he's a good character to start with. Pit, Meta Knight and Ike are also good, solid starter characters depending on your style (all round, swift rapid attacker or slow strong slams respectively).

If you want to be good Rich, start with Olimar. He kicks major butt.

I do agree with you, Olimar - after practice - is a great character who can really hold himself in the fray, but he really does need a lot of practice. If you haven't played the previous two Smash Bros. games try someone else first to get your footing, then try a complex character like Olimar.

But yeh anyway, try a character like Mario first, then test out Chracters like Olimar, Meta Knight, Marth and Link.

Do NOT play Ike. Ike is terrible and over-used!!! Do not fall into that trap!!!

Okay ... Looks like I have to play through to game to unlock some of the dudes ... I forgot about that!

Yes, I have WiFi, not turned on SSBB yet, just really setting up the system and will probably ry some Wii Sports with the missus first.

But, yeah, hope to be brawling with some of you guys soone enough.

There's nothing wrong with Ike. His moves, while slow, can cause severe damage when they hit the opponent. His front smash can KO lighter characters at 40%.

Who would you reccomend then john?

Oh my gosh I will be gone at camp that day <.< lol thanks though that will be awesome.

And yeah once we put the forum in, it would be awesome to start tourneys, when I get back from camp I will try to pin a thread in the wi-fi forum that will cause members to post in a format when asking to battle, I think this would create less spam etc.

Um try mediknight he is a good person to start with and is acyually a great charicter once you get used to him.

I haven't played Wi-Fi with anyone here on Supercheats. But I kick serious asphalt!

Oh use Marth Falco and Snake they are really well or pit is always a good start I wouldn't care if I was first but I would like to play you sometimes rich.
