It's definately happening, Will Smith signed up for it last week which in itself is amazing as he has expressed in recent interviews that he won't do any more sequels.

Interesting, wonder what made him sign this deal then? Maybe the money got his attention quicker than he could remember what he said in those interviews.

Very hard to top a great movie, and usually in my opinion, the first movies are always better.

That can be said about 95% of the time. I can't think of many films where the sequel was better than the first movie. The only one that comes immediately to mind is Aliens which I thought was far better than Alien. The second Blade movie I also that was a lot better than the first.

I know what you mean by the Blade movies, although I found liking the third one better than them both. Very good movies, but I Am Legend was decent and I know it can be topped.

Was the third Blade movie better than the second? All the reviews I've read said it wasn't any good which put me off watching it. I thought the second Blade movie was superb. As for the 'I am Legend' prequel or sequel whatever direction they decide to go I don't think it will be as good, the scenery in first movie like the deserted New York city with the wild deer running about made that movie a bit special for me not so much the storyline although it was good.
