It's more a case of too much thrust applied to the wheels.
Having more camber either way shouldn't actually help the acceleration in a straight line btw... :S
It should actually slow it down a fair bit due to the lack of contact patch from the tyre reaching the surface of the road...
I mean yes for Grip races it will be benifcial because with more camber (typically negative) you can have better cornering speed and thus better exit speeds as well, but not when it comes to a pure straight line.
One more thing the EA has done wrong then.

I can get 9.87 secons on the 1/4 mile with my Mustang GT...

A great big massive one at that.
They also included the Caster factor, but that shouldn't really affect a car too much you see seeing as there isn't exactly a lot of free mobility with car wheels.
So it was kind of pointless to include that factor.

i dont care that much about caster etc, im more of a fan of drag races. with mainly mean, whos got the faster times.

Which reminds me of the new project of my Pagani Zonda F for drag which can do 5.5 to 5.6 seconds on the Quarter mile.

im i hope you realise it can do 5.06secs...

ive seen it do it, my mouth dropped to the floor when it happened. anyway i have an idea how it is done, i can do it if i had stage 4 parts, which i cant... basicly ill let you know on a tip:

have a stage 3 gearbox and everything else stage 4, with a stage 3 gearbox, the 4th gear is able to hit the top speed without overheating the engine.

Bearing in mind remember I've got the PS2 system in which a lot of the game features were reduced or power weakened.

But if it can do 5.06 seconds as you say...New fastest car for drag then so far.

if i had stage 4 parts then yes. but thanks to this patch i cant.

1. zonda
2. supra
3. camaro

We would go on to a top 5, but the only other car worth mentioning really is the Dodge Challenger.
Although I haven't really put a Nissan 350Z through its paces for Drag yet or tested a Mazda RX-8 to it's maximum.

OK of the cars I have tested from the extender bundles none of them really work for drag.... my top car is still the Camaro.

and yes the extender bundles were useless for drag which sucked

and also another car to note is the new shelby gt500 since its capable of hitting arund 5.8, the vid for it is in this topic some where

also to note, kenny with your zonda use try this drivechain setup for me

1st = -10
2nd = -4
3rd = +4
4th = +10
5th = +10
6th = +10
final = +10

when driving use nos on 3rd and dont go out of 4th since you can hit the top speed in 4th

I'll try it alright, but you see with the drivetrain I've set up I can use the Nitrous shot as soon as I change into 1st gear.

oh, well use your setup but try it on 3rd, i might work out better that way, who knows

Tried it and well it wasn't quite working cause the accleration was quite slow, so I tried it with the method I do with my drivetrain set up and it's a little bit slower, but at most a tenth.
My drivetrain set up is as follows:
1st: +10
2nd: +9
3rd: + 9
4th: +10
5th and 6th obviously aren't used
Final drive: +10

In the race as soon as I shift into 1st gear and it hits 20mph (which is relatively quick) I use my nitrous shot and if you perfect shift to 4th you'll be hitting the game's top speed no problem.
In addition you can actually get the Zonda to have similar acceleration times as the Camaro with this.

Also you only need a Stage 4 tyre package and the Stage 4 Suspension package for tuning. Then do the re-stocking of the suspension.

tyre package i was already aware of, however i believe down tuning to stage 3 would be better, since when i have all stage 3 parts i couldnt do a wheelie so it could have the same result here

Yeah, but the problem here is when you do pop a wheelie with the Zonda you have the following risks:
-Not enough acceleration
-The rear of the Zonda scrapes along the tarmac and so eventually the front slams down and you lose revs and speed
-The usual veering off effect.
