not to b a kno it all, but the term is aerodinamics, anyways, ur rite, the sharp drop off on the edges and the ridges in front n back help the air flow faster over it makin the car faster n puts less drag on it
no, thats just wat i kno from science and aerodynamics, its like leavin the tailgate up on a truck, theres an air pocket between the cab and the tail gate, and the air flowin over the truck slips over the air pocket causing less drag. its the same concept with the widebodies, the air gets trapped in the gaps in the body and it causes a major decrease in drag...sry for the science lesson, but itll help ya out if u decide to race in life.
well, actually, u cant stay behind sum1 for very long, its because of draft, u get the drag taken off of u and it adds to theirs, slowing them down n speeding u up, so u can slingshot around them, like in NFS: Carbon
Yeah, because you don't ahve to put anymore torque into the engine to go faster because you need more torque to go faster because of the friction. That's why you don't need more torque when you are slip-streaming.
