There is only one, and you get it after you beat Articuno. If you are able to keep it alive throughout the next dungeon you'll keep it.

same here and his friend area is darkness ridge which i think he gives you when he joins you

a dungeon well u either complete it or u get counted as a defeat or when ur done with your mission they ask u if you want to leave

I guess that makes sense but still he has almost no special attack if you know what I mean. you should give him shadow ball iron tail swords dance and quick attack or bite
