venusaur/shiftry/umbreon may be similar in type but a helluva lot different in terms of archtype, this is tru even in game: umbreon was never used to attack even back when it first came out in GSC

btw, in terms of type matching, grass/dark aren't very good choices: i'd rather go for a dragon (And that really ruins this team) point being: there is a kyogre there, so you shouldn't use the word "dominate"

I never said they could "destroy" the team. I said grass and darkness types were most effective and used them as examples. I also said it depends on the movesets.

Legendary or not, Kyogre is still a water type and is weak against Grass types. Whitch means a grass type pokemon, at the same level, with at least one Grass type atack, has a good chance at beating it. And note that Gyarados is considered a dragon type even though it isn't.

Edit: You are right thuogh. I shouldn't use the word dominate when there's a Legendary pokemon in a team. I'll be more careful selecting words.

lapras is also considered a dragon, but it doesn't fit with the dragon arch type =\ and i did only mention dragons in terms of type matching, as in the pokes with "type = dragon" the only thing they're affraid of is kyogre's IB, but they are generally strong enough to take kyo out... so neigh

and the "grass > kyogre" argument, i urge you to refer to all grass poke's stats and kyogre's stats... had you mentioned LUDICOLO rather than shiftry, it would've been a much more powerful case

i'm assuming this is STIL the typical kyogre moveset ingame and for general purposes: surf/cm/ib/thunder kyogre in P/D only, where attacks of the same type may not neccessarily be special types... but then you need a grass type with high physical attack stat to take advantage of that
