It was meant to be Ken Shamrock but shamrock got injured before the match and Petruzelli replaced him.

Slice lost by TKO(strikes)...so im guessing he walking into a right hand and then got owned on the ground.

After hearing that Kimbo Slice got knocked out in 14 seconds I give him no chance against Mike Tyson if the match is ever made.

I remember when the first competitions were televised on TV in the 80's once a year and nobody knew much about the sport. It's now got a huge following with regular events in venues like Las Vegas and are televised worldwide. People are saying that MMA will eventually be more popular than Boxing.

At this point in time it is more popular. Boxing lost a ton of fans because there are no good fights anymore and there are so many weight classes and belts now nothing really holds any value in the sport.

MMA has its big names fighting on a regular basis and the fights are very exciting.

I think the only big name left in the Boxing now who everyone knows is Oscar De La Hoya and I think he's retiring soon if he hasn't done already. Boxing desperately needs another Muhammad Ali or Tyson to inject interest into the sport. Who are the biggest names in MMA at the moment?

Manny Pacquio and Floyd Mayweather are about as big as it gets now. They are in the same weight class but Mayweather can't decide whether to retire or keep fighting and Manny only agrees to fight him with ridiculous restrictions so far.

MMA has a lot of big names. Really there's too many that are out there to list really.

George St. Pierre, BJ Penn, Brock Lesnar, and Fedor Emilianenko are just 4 off the top of my head.

UFC and MMA are the same. UFC is just the biggest league.

Spike TV usually shows the undercards of PPV events, and it has the Ultimate Fighter on it.

Ultimate Fighter is a competition for a UFC contract. Many fighter thats have came from that show are now top competitors in the UFC.

Manny Pacquio is fighting Miguel Cotto this weekend, that should be a great fight and if Pacquio wins he will get my vote as the best boxer on the planet.

It will be Pacquio's 7th title in 7 seven different weight classes. I don't think anyone has ever matched that, to me he's the best pound for pound fighter the world has ever seen.

Pacquio is fighting at a much higher weight class then he's built for, but he's never had problems before when moving up.

You've obviously never seen footage of Sugar Ray Robinson, easily best pound for pound boxer ever.

Robinson was 85-0 as an amateur with 69 of those victories coming by way of knockout, 40 in the first round. He turned professional in 1940 at the age of 19 and by 1951 had a professional record of 128-1-2 with 84 knockouts. Robinson held the world welterweight title from 1946 to 1951, and won the world middleweight title in the latter year. He retired in 1952, only to come back two and a half years later and regain the middleweight title in 1955. He then became the first boxer in history to win a divisional world championship five times

My mind completelty skipped over him.

The era's of boxing are too different to compare fighters I think though.

Now boxers rarely fight, since it is all about he promotion of the find and the purse. Pacquio claiming 7 different weight class titles is something I don't anyone will ever do again.

I don't write of Cotto he is a quality world champion who has only been defeated once and that was by Antonio Margarito another modern day great.

I just don't see anyone matching up to Pacquio. Mayweather who is undefeated through his entire career has been ducking fights with him for a long time now. It will the best fight we've seen in a while, but I have to give Pacquio the advantage.

Pacquio vs Mayweather would be a great fight, it's difficult to pick a winner. If pushed I'd say Mayweather because he has is better defensive skills and is the naturally bigger man.

Reminds me of the legendary Henry Armstrong the speed which he lets those fists of his fly. The movement and angles he finds to deliver his punches are unbelievable and almost impossible to defend against. I bet Mayweather is more than a bit concerned about going up against the Pac man.
