because different people like different things, so a tv show you find stupid may be a tv show someone else likes.

Because people are cruel to other people who are different and don't fit into their image of what is "normal."
Why is it Christians are taught "love thy neighbor" and tolerance of others, but it doesn't seem to apply when they are dealing with non-Christians?

Because horses kept by people are trained from a young age to be beasts of burden. Wild horses certainly won't let people ride them.

Because Nickelodeon seems to be aiming all their shows at the 11-18 age groups, so they make all their shows about people from that age group.
And to think Nickelodeon used to have really good shows....

PETA, for one things, upholds animal rights. So far, so good. However, they do not exactly choose animals over people, at least not quite the way you seem to mean. I think they do understand that people are more important than animals, but their mission is to help the animals, not the people, so it may make them seem like hypocrites when a situation arises where a choice has to be made between a human and an animal and they choose the human instead.
