They went ok. In about 2 weeks my WACE exams begin. They are worth 50% of my total grade for each subject. So for eg if you average 60% at school (tests, assignments, school exams etc) but score 36% in your WACE exam, you score 48% overall.

That's good that they base your results half on school work. I remember most subjects being 100% exam. So if you messed up in the exam or just had a bad day...
I'm sure you will be getting good marks in those exams though. Good luck with the studying.

Over here in NZ our NCEA systems a little broken. You don't even need to sit final exams to pass the year.
it's 80 credits acheived throughout the year to pass. Gain over 100/120 (can't remember which) to get a 20 credit carry over to the next years level.
Level 1, level 2, and level 3. With 3 being final year of High School.
I had, along with my carry over credits from level 1, 31credits at level 2 by Oct (Feb to November school year) and I gained 65credits in our last two study weeks, that are used to finish up and resit any failed assessmemnts from throughout the year.

Honestly wish my school offered Cambridge testing system instead. Would've much preferred that. Would've pushed me to actually TRY and not **** around all year.

NCEA is far too cruisy. Stupid kids don't have to try much to pass. Smart kids (like me) fcuked around all year except one or two weeks, and still passed well. Maybe it's different now, but back then it was a major joke.

Sphynxx Well I think there's less opportunities to get credits. Next year you really need to rely on exams because apparently theres even less opportunities.
Exams themselves are stupid in terms of testing what a child learns over the course of an entire year. Internally assessed assignments are a much better gauge (imo) at figuring out what someone has actually learned as opposed to what they could cram back in with study

Hope every one had a good halloween. if thats your thing. I did the sweets distribution again, we get more and more kids every year. It wasn't really a thing round our way in the past but it's really picking up. Was a good year. Good kids, good costumes and still plenty of sweets left for me.

Our house didn't have our lights on this year, but usually when we leave them on we get 0-3 groups of trick or treaters only. I'm sad though; there wasn't any leftovers for me :(
Had my Modern History WACE exam today, worth 50% of our final mark that goes towards our ATAR (the score you get based on your 4 best subjects, which goes towards getting into a University course). History is officially finished, forever. English is tomorrow. Will be glad to finish that trash course.
