Taylor, Holmes, and Watson were given the water pistols since nobody trusted Laura with a weapon (even one that only shoots water). The watch was just so they could know what time it was. But the five rolls of sticky tape had a very crucial purpose.

As it turned out, Holmes forgot to bring 5 rolls and instead brought 5 pieces. The first was stuck to Taylor's mustache and then ripped off quickly. Holmes hated it. The second and third pieces would be designed to hold the Ctrl key on a keyboard down while Watson pressed 2 other keys at the same time. The fourth was to cover a hole in Taylor's water pistol. ...it was just a spare in case one of the other didn't do its job. Taylor's mustache was now gone but he still had a beard, which made him look Amish. Because of this he was able to infiltrate the nearby Amish community and discovered the rumors were true--they WERE building a barn.

It meant that the 4 of them could stay somewhere while they came up with a plan to get to where they needed to go. By infiltrating the computers in Trump Tower, they would be able to find out who killed Krump and why. Once safe inside the barn with a few dozen people, they could discuss their plan, knowing the strangers would be too busy talking among themselves.

Taylor then remembered that Krump had been killed because of the incident with the nonexistent fish. The only question was, who had killed him? Who would have benefited most from his death? While pondering this, Taylor opened a packet of crisps as he thought better when he wasn't hungru. Something on the packet caught Holmes' attention.
