It's been a show since '97 or '98, I believe. Just a new season every year.
That's how the world works. It doesn't change when you're an adult - Companies will always make an effort to 'cash in' on people, no matter their age. That's business - We all gotta make money somehow.
Eh. I'd say 50-50. It has some good episodes and some bad. I just wish they would make Ash (main character) finally grow up. I'm mean he has been 10 years old now for like 15 years. XD
Characters like the Griffins are okay with me. I don't think they should age too much.
But Ash is a different story. It's unrealistic that he could travel to now six Pokemon Regions (over 800 episodes) and not age even a single year. But I guess that's what the writers want to do.
I think you may be slightly biased - In the sense that you grew up with the show and you aged, so you'd expect the characters in the show to grow up as well. I don't mean that as a personal attack or anything. I would have agreed with you just a couple years ago, when I still watched the show.
But in the end, the entire franchise is obviously focused towards much younger children. If I was ten years old, I don't know if I'd be nearly as interested in the series if I was watching a... Ash would be, what? 25 or something? ... A 20 year old going through that adventure. I would still agree that he should be aged at least somewhat - But not even five years older. It just wouldn't fit with the series.
The writers only want to do it because that's how they make money. They'll make more money by keeping him young - Real older kids are more likely to watch the show starring a younger kid than real younger kids are to watch the show starring a much older kid.
