Division standings mean nothing unless your in top place. All that matters in conference standings where Philly ranks 6th. 12 points out of top place and 3 points above 9th place. You have to take into account that Buffalo is injured pretty badly right now and once they get their players back they will take a spot in the play-offs, also the Rangers and Atlanta also have a great chance at making the play-offs. Atlanta has the best scorer in the league with Kovalchuk and the Rangers have the best goalie in the East after Brodeur, Lundqvist.

I'm going to the flyers game on the 12th. they are playing the Boston Bruins. It should be a good physical game. because of when randy jones hit bergeron into the boards.

Phoenix beat Vancouver 4-3 Dancing but the best of the matches was the Islanders v Flames. It was a very close game, 5-4, but I actually thought the Flames would win it.

I was hoping that vancouver would win...but without luango they dont seem to do that alot.

Today is a huge game

Detroit Redwings VS Ottawa Sentators
the two best teams in the league face to face
I hope that the sens win

The Oilers have had a good comeback since 2008.
They are 4-1 since the new year, and they are so far 3-0 in their since they started thier home games.

Gerber will start for Ottawa, hopefully he can keep hold off Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

For what I know about it:
If a player has the puck and goes over the attacking blue line, he can't go back behind and across it again for as long as he controls the puck.

Hopefully I got that right.

Offsides is when any player on the team with puck possession crosses the blue line into the offensive zone before the puck has entered the zone.

The Senators won! No surprise though.
I really hope that the Oilers win this game against Calgary. We really need the 2 points, we are close to getting 8th.

How was it not a surprise? Detroit has the best "big" line in the NHL with Zetterberg, Holmstrom, and Datsyuk, they have have a better goaltender with Hasek and they have some of the best defensemen in the league. Ottawa dropped to the Islanders 3-1 last night, but it was expected as we played Detroit the night before.

it wasnt a surprise because ottawa is better than detroit.
maby the points dont show it, but ottawas playyoff games last season, and the games this season showed it.

Oilers won calgary 2-1
if they beat LA today, they will get tied with Columbus (if Vancouver can beat them) for 10th.

I think that they are going to make it to the playoffs again.

How is Ottawa better? Please explain that to me? Your playoff example is useless since Detroit has won the cup with basically the same personnel and are always the top 3 of their conference, something my Sens can't say. Also Detroit has been better than Ottawa this year easily, just look at the records.

Also. Heatley is out for 6 weeks with a dislocated shoulder, this sucks hard. We lose our best pure scorer.
