Buffalo gave Atlanta some serious ownage, 1-10. Shame that Buffalo have to play again today, this time with Toronto. Anaheim have won again, 4-2 over Minnesota. Nashville playing St Louis, should be fairly easy since St Louis are TERRIBLE. Phoenix are playing Blackhawks, don't think they'll hold up so well though.

On 16-Jan-2008 Brandon 2006 said:How is Ottawa better? Please explain that to me? Your playoff example is useless since Detroit has won the cup with basically the same personnel and are always the top 3 of their conference, something my Sens can't say. Also Detroit has been better than Ottawa this year easily, just look at the records.

Also. Heatley is out for 6 weeks with a dislocated shoulder, this sucks hard. We lose our best pure scorer.
Like I said, Ottawa might not have the records or the better player than the Wings, but they play better.

Detroit hasn't made it to playoffs since 2003 I think. They are always 1st in the league and never make it to the finals.

Ottawa has been playing really good the past 2 seasons, staying 1st and making it to the finals once.

And Ottawa has beat Detroit every time they meet. The reason I think that Ottawa is better because like you said, Detroit has better players, and goalies and Ottawa still came up with the win.

Yesterday, the Oilers had a horrible game in Carolina, loosing 7-2.
Earlier today, the Oilers beat Atlanta 4-2 in a must win, hopefully this is the start of a good winning streak.

Ironic: Buffalo had a 10 game loosing streak and break it with 10 goals.

Have you forgotten that Detroit is in the conference finals every year, while Ottawa has dropped out earlier many more times than Detroit has. Detroit has made the Western finals since the 1990's much more than not. You also have to take into account that Detroit played Anaheim last year and they went on to win the cup. Anaheim was also the strongest team in the league with a stacked roster. And me and the rest of the hockey fans in Ottawa had to suffer that playoff defeat. Detroit is #1 followed by #2 Ottawa. It will be like that until Ottawa can win the cup and come back the next season and make it to the finals again, like Detroit has done many times.

Flyers beat Ottawa 6-1. but they didn't have heatley or alfredsson. we have been playing great and now its a three way tie for first in the Atlantic division between the flyers, penguins and devils.

The shootout competition was pretty bad. Ovechkin had a nice move with batting the puck, but he missed. Chara's shot was nice, but Phaneuf never got good wood on the puck and neither did Ovie. They both kinda messed up so I think they both would have been 100MPH+ if they would have gotten good wood on the puck.

Kaberle looked amazing in the shot accuracy contest going 4/4, while Alfie never got it going. :(

The Young Stars game was really exciting. Tons of action all the time, but the stupid television channel kept showing replays of all the goals and we ended up missing 3 or 4 of the goals while we were watching replays.

Gary Bettman looked horribly bored during the whole night. Right after the game in an interview he still seemed bored and he kinda hurried his answers like he didn't want to be at the game.

It's a shame we're not gonna see Dany Heatley, Sidney Crosby and Martin Brodeur in the Eastern side. No Henrik Zetterberg, Sergei Zubov and Paul Stastny in the Western side either.

We also don't get to see Brodeur, one of the best goalies ever(Roy is the best).

It was the East Vs. the West. Why would Detroit play against an all-star team?

The East won 8-7.
