mudkip is the best because of his moveset flexibility

and his only weakness to grass

There is no absolute best starter, it all comes down to how you use them.

Superkilla: When used correctly there actually is. But a few are tied.

Agiladelamerica: Toxic on Swampert sucks. The fourth move should be Rock Slide.

SHADOW DX: Rock Slide is a great move (and I'm bloody glad it's a TM in D/P) and Swampert is far better going all out attacking.

Oh look. It seems that HYPR SHADOW is going to start the same arguement that Devil King did. Hehe. Here is my preference in order:

1. Typhlosion
= Swampert
2. Charizard
=Blaziken
=Maganium
3. Blastoise
4. Sceptile
5. Feraligatr
6. Venasaur

However, this is the true order of overall skill:

1. Swampert
2. Charizard
3. Venasaur
=Blastoise
=Sceptile
4. Blaziken
5. Typhlosion
=Feraligatr
6. Meganium

ND, rollout is a much better attack than rock slide for Swampert.

That is not the true order. I posted the true order on page 1. I suggest you look at it. Blastoise is poor.

For the last time, Rock Slide is a far better move the Rollout.

That's right, swampert isn't really the type of pokemon that stalls the opponent, he is, like nintendo_dude said, an all out attacker.
