Hm, I haven't downloaded brushes in a while and, to top that off, I'm on a different computer from which I have Photoshop, so I apologize if the following isn't 100 percent accurate.

I believe that all you have to do is double-click the Brush file(s) and Photoshop will automatically open with those brushes added to its memory (and those brushes will be added to the brush selection). But, it will remember the brushes ONLY from that file where you double-clicked it. So I recommend, before doing ANYTHING, to save any and all brushes to a separate Brushes folder*, and THEN double-click that file from that location.

* There's a default Brushes folder somewhere in C:/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe if you use Windows, but I won't be of much help to you if you use a Mac.

Oh my God.
I say I'll be more active, then I don't do anything..
It's my damned creativity. It's at an all time low... Anyone have any tutorials that would be good to get me back up and running?

I typically find inspiration and experimentation with different styles to be very helpful.

My story is that I constantly delve into slumps and lack of creativity. This is because I find a new style, work with it, then eventually turn to smudging. This happens all the time for me.

I would suggest not to work with a style with which you're familiar (not that you shouldn't at all; I mean you should find a diversity of styles and simply incorporate in your sigs these new styles along with your "signature" style). In any case, I personally believe there is a multitude of inspirational pieces in here.

As for tutorials, well, I don't know if those will necessarily help you. I believe they are good for seeing how a person makes a sig and are useful for beginning artists to learn some techniques in making sigs, however I don't think following tutorials will necessarily help you out of slumps and/or inspire creativity. Well, they may inspire creativity by providing new techniques about which you never thought, but eh... I'd look through the thread and work from there.

Probe, I suggest not to FOLLOW tutorials, but just to scan through and pick up something you might want to chuck in a tag later on. Such as how the person used smudging, or C4D's. Following them I don't think would personally spark any inspiration or creativity whatsoever.

Hmm. Alright, thanks guys.
Also, where would I find some good, Abstract C4Ds? Like the ones used in the lasts tag posted in the Inspirational thread. I can never find any good abstracts.

Gah. I know I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again.

This thread needs to be updated by someone who can keep up with it... And that is going to have to be someone who doesn't need to be told to come here to edit the first post.

And again, I propose a new thread be made to serve that purpose. By either one of the G&A mods or by someone like Vasco.

Yeah, I'm sorry to say that's the case. I agree, but how should we decide who does it?

Draw straws? ._.

Just put up people viable for the "job," and have them confirm that they would even want to do it.

Then, just have a vote among the members?

I'll just say now, though, that I would not like the job. :( But I nominate... Saphy! ;) And Layne and Vasco, as well.

V truthfully, It doesn't really matter to me. I was just happy to tie with sig made entirely with brushes and a contrast adjustments.

I'd be quite happy to make the topic to be honest. Now we wait for Marie and Vasco's opinions.

I know why you put my name first Vee, memories of buggleton Dx

Well, any of the mods here (+ vasco, because he's vasco) would be a good choice for this. But I think Layne would be good, since he's making most of the SOTWs :3 (or all, I lost track xD).

Oh, that reminds me. Once my school starts again, I would only be able to make SOTW a couple of hours earliar than the deadline. Due to the fact that GMT is like my 10-11 am.

Sooooo D;
