who is the best starter arguement

Id say Balziken is the best starter, he's really good against the elite four, becuase he learns alot of fighting and fire type moves so... Fighting for the first guy, anything on the second, fighting on the third, don't use him on the fourth, fighting and fire on the fifth. He learns sky uppercut at 59, super move, excelent on the elite four.

God, I'll have to pull out the list again...

1) Swampert
2) Charizard
3) Blaziken
4) Sceptile
5) Typhlosion
6) Venusaur
7) Feraligator
8) Meganium
9) Blastoise

The above list is extremely similar to nintendo_dude's. The only difference is Typhlosion and Venusaur. The possibilities for their places are mixed.

Venusaur is a lot better than Typhlosion, which Nintendo_Dude, myself and another friend concluded. Meganium is equivilant to Feraligatr, although I had to go through a lot to get that into the others' heads.

Typhlosion is kinda overrated when it comes to starters. Five are better than him (although none of the are Johto starters).

EDIT - Oh, and you should put Scpetile and Blaziken as both joint third. I prefer Sceptile but there's quite an arguement behind that, so they're probably around equal.

WTF? It's only in Emerald and Ruby, not anywhere else, unless I'm missing more than I thought.

well d/p if you count them, and someone's trying to argue blastoise is better than swampert in terms of competitive battling, because his swampert used 3 hydro cannons on mewtwo (who had a cheated volt tackle) and took it down

i thot meganium was the best starter back in johto, the other two starters are meer sweepers, and while ty is fast, feral is the only one who can easily switch in on predicted hits, where as ty can hardli switch in on anything, being so fragile... meganium helped the whole team's survival with seed and psudo pass, i loved it more than venusaur =]

it's all preference isn't it? if we argue about it, it'll be pretty situational... i can onli conclude with "this/that poke has an easier time dealing with what the 386 can throw at it than others"

the question is simple,there is no best. The game developers made it so they are all equal. they all have their weaknesses and strengths.
if you like all of them use a cheat device to get them all =)
