The typical WTA players who get talked about their looks seem to be: - Paula Badosa (#33) - Donna Vekic (#51) - Camila Giorgi (#74) - Amanda Anisimova (#79) (was given a $100 million contract by Nike) - Eugenie Bouchard (#115)
There will of course be others depending on what you like. But it's not the same as in the previous generation when you had several players known most for their looks. These days the only player that fits that criteria is Bouchard, but she flopped and let the fame get to her after making 3 GS semi finals in 1 year (and 1 final).

I've heard of Bouchard, I'll have to look up the others. I've heard of Bouchard because she is the girlfriend of Pittsburgh quarterback Rudolph Mason. I think she also appeared a recent Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.
Oh yeah, that's right, she's dating Rudolph (receiver of the thrown helmet) xD
Dennis - She is also famous for her constant bikini pictures.
Warrior - Not even Bouchard?! She was the darling and next big star of the WTA for years, up until her collapse. 2013-2014 was peak Bouchard. And I'm surprised you haven't heard of Anisimova (young American). The media tried to hype her up as the next Sharapova (hence her $100M contract), but in her only GS semi she blew a 7-6 3-0 lead (had won 10 of the last 11 games and had all the momentum).

Comparing Anismova to Sharapova is bit of a stretch. I prefer Bouchard but even she is lagging behind Sharapova by a considerable margin.
I guess if I had to choose from the current crop of players I'd probably go for another Russian and that would be Elena Devenmetia or however it is it's spelt, but even she's a far cry from Sharapova.
No one comes close. If there was one, I would admit it. But there has not been one since Sharapova. That said, Womens tennis could certainly use another hottie hot hottie.
Dennis - Elena Devenmetia retired a long time ago.
Dominic Thiem and Simona Halep (defending champion) are OUT of Wimbledon. Thiem was never going to contend, but Halep is a big out. Once again it is an open womens tournament, and once again Serena WILL blow a golden opportunity.
Wimbledon starts tomorrow. Here are my predictions:
Mens: Novak Djokovic Other contenders (in order) - Federer, Berrettini, Tsitsipas, Zverev Dark horse - Denis Shapavalov
Womens: I have no idea. With zero confidence, I will say Garbine Muguruza Other contenders - Serena, Kvitova, Bencic, Barty Dark horse - Alison Riske

I make you right with both predictions Matt, major upset if Djokovic doesn't win and the Spanish girl always does well at Wimbledon. I'd be happy if it is anyone other than Djokovic and Serena Williams.
The only person who can stop Novak, is Novak. It doesn't matter how poorly he plays, he will always win, even if he's 2 sets to love down. If he isn't focused mentally, that may be his downfall. In 2016 Novak had won the Aus Open and French Open (he beat Rafa there). He then lost to unseeded American Sam Querrey in the 3rd round of Wimbledon, in 4 sets.
I will try not to watch any parts of his matches. It's horrible seeing so many players choke against him.
This is Serena's last chance to win a slam. Imo Wimbledon 2022 will be too late, and I wonder if she'll even still be playing. I think if Serena can't win Wimbledon, she will retire with Venus at this year's US Open.

The only way Djokovic is not winning Wimbledon is if he twists his ankle or some other freak injury happens. The organisers may just as well hand him the title now and not waste anyone's time.I see the bookies have odds of 13/16 for Djokovic to win Wimbledon. Andy Murray comes in at 139/1. What happened to him, there was a time he was a top four player alongside Nadal, Federer, and Djokovic.
The women's title looks like it is going to be contested between Barty, Williams, and Murguruza or however you spell it. The odds on these three are similar. 22/1 or thereabouts.
Matt, any ideas what odds we would get for a double? Djokovic and Murguruza. It might be worth sticking a couple of dollars down to make the competition interesting.
You and me both Warrior13, in fact I'll be rooting for anyone aside from Andy Murrey who plays Djokovic. That Scot twat is more arrogant than Djokovic.
Dennis - Murray badly injured his hip, had brutal surgeries, announced his so-called retirement, had more surgeries, and is back playing as a part time injury prone player. He will never contend for a slam ever again. A 4th round appearance would be a great result for him.
Novak is $1.72 (for every $1 you bet, you get $1.72 back) and Muguruza is a whopping $17 (17/1). Muguruza is a very good value bet. She was a Wimbledon champion in 2017 and also a runner up in 2014, and this season she was playing very well until she got injured from overplaying.
I would have to guess, that a Djokovic-Muguruza bet would get odds of roughly 30/1.
The betting favourites are: 1. Novak $1.72 2. Medvedev 8/1 3. Tsitsipas 10/1 4. Berrettini / Roger 13/1 (very good odds)
Serena slipped and hurt her ankle, and had to retire injured in the 1st set. It's over for her. A very unfortunate way for her time at Wimbledon to end. Tsitsipas got thrashed in a huge upset. He was one of the contenders. Kvitova also lost easily. Andreescu won 3 games.
Muguruza won 6-0 6-1 (and served for the double bagel).
Roger was in big trouble, down 2 sets to love (after winning the 1st set). But when he was up 4-2 in the 4th set, his opponent slipped and hurt his knee. He retired injured 2 games later. A very lucky escape for Roger, in what is his last ever chance to win a GS.
Dennis - Have you heard of Carla Suarrez Navarro? She's a fairly well known Spanish player (highest ranking of #6), who recently came back from 8 rounds of chemotherapy to make it back to tennis. She won a set against world #1 Barty (before eventually losing).
