Yeah, if any team is going from worst to first, you would have to think it's the 49ers. I guess you can say the Eagles are in the conversation since it's the NFC East we're talking about, but I doubt that. That's about it. Jets aren't winning the AFC East. Bengals are definitely not winning the AFC North. Jaguars aren't going to do better than the Colts and Titans. No one is unseating the Chiefs in the West. I think Falcons could flip to a Wild Card team, but not division winners. Even if Rodgers is traded, I can't see the Lions overtaking the Bears and Vikings (or even a Love led Packers) with their lack of weapons.

I agree, it would have to be the 49rs if anyone. Is Garapollo starting for San Francisco? I keep hearing how impressed the 49rs are with Trey Lance. Would they be stupid enough to through him straight in to see what they have drafted, it didn't take long for the Dolphins to succomb to fan pressure last year with Tua and to be honest it didn't do him any favours.

Yeah, Jimmy G is the starter. They want to sit Lance this year and then have him take over next year, just like Mahomes did to begin his career. I think there's a shot they'll trade him at the Trade Deadline, but it's not that great of one. Would they honestly trade him if they are winning just because his value is high? If they have a bad year, I don't see his value dropping from the deadline to the offseason. It only makes the most sense to have Lance sit this year.

Seems like the plan is always for the rookie to sit but they usually end up starting partway through the season.

A couple of factors cause this I think, pressure from the fans and pressure for the coach to win. For most of the coaches if they have a losing season they are getting fired. It must be difficult for them to lose each week with the fans on your back to play the rookie superstar who everyone thinks is going to be the savior of the team sitting on the bench and they know full well the rookie isn't ready.

The 49ers shouldn't be losing though if all of their players are back at 100%. They had like 50ish injuries last year. lol If Jimmy G can stay healthy, I see them being a playoff contender, thus making no need to play Lance. He's raw, and Shanahan needs the time to mold him.

Yeah, but Jimmy G staying healthy is a big "if". 50/50 he goes down at some point.

I don't understand why the dude can't stay healthy. He is in freakishly good shape. Brittle, I guess.

Sometimes it's just bad luck. A lot of guys hold the ball too long and take too many hits too.

Hopefully he can stay healthy. I really want to see that division at full go for each team.

After seeing Jimmy Garapollo's performance in the Super Bowl a couple of years ago I'd have shipped him out a year ago. Although there was also bad coaching in the second half of that game Garapollo missed several open recievers that could have put that game out of reach. Great game but if I was a 49er fan I'd be upset Garapollo was still in the team as the guy chokes in big games and to make it worse he's always injured.

Jimmy G was only average, sure, but that loss falls on Shanahan. Dude should know to cut the heads off of teams you're destroying in the Super Bowl.

You would think teams would learn from 28-3 to not let off the gas no matter what the score is.

Or run the ball when in field goal range late since, you now, a field goal would have ended it. lol

That game was unbelievable, I think it was more of a case of Shanahan not believing in Garapollo than Brady playing well. I remember when the Redskins had Riggins they would get their lead and just use the big back to run the clock down, Riggins literally wore out the defense. Why didn't the 49rs do the same, they had decent running backs. There was something strange about that game now I look back at it, now way should a team come back from 28-3 in a Super Bowl.

The Pats played the Falcons in that game, but it was still Kyle Shanahan running the offense. No idea why the Falcons didn't run the ball more especially in situations where they were already in field goal range. Absolutely mindboggling, I think Shanahan gets in his own head and tries to be a bit cute.

Speaking of the Pats and Falcons... Julio Jones is reportedly wanting to be traded to the Falcons, stating Matt Ryan is starting to lose zip in his throws. Not sure why he would want to go there over the Packers, Ravens, Raiders, Colts, and Dolphins, especially since he would likely have Mac Jones throwing to him soon enough.

Yeah I saw that too. I think other players just really really like Cam. There have been reports of them wanting to play together for a decade.

I get that a decade ago, but now? He does not compare to Ryan.

I don't get it either. Probably just hyping up his friend.
