Yeah, that will be playing on Wentz mind. Foles is the last person he wants backing him up. Last thing the Colts want is a quarterback controversy between those two, it will make them th laughing stock of the NFL. I can see why they would get Foles though, they both know the same playbook from their time in Philadelphia. I'm with Warrior13, I'd give Philip Rivers a call and see if he could help out for a few weeks.

And if it turns out to be a nagging injury (like most Wentz injuries), Rivers can still lead them to the playoffs. Honestly, they were a couple of drop balls away from defeating the Bills last postseason. He still has it, and no one would expect him to be the long term answer.

I read it was some bone issue they're thinking he's had since high school and it's just bothering him now. Really bizarre, but nothing surprises me anymore with Philly players.

In the last half-decadeish almost every single high profile Philly sports draft pick has been injured or has something bizarre happen.

Wentz - tears ACL, falls apart
Devonta Smith - sprained MCL
Ben Simmons in the NBA - missed rookie year with injury, refuses to learn to shoot
Joel Embiid in the NBA - missed first 2 years, constantly misses games
Markelle Fultz in the NBA - completely forgot how to shoot the ball
Shayne Gostisbehere in the NHL - had one good season, fell aaprt, nobody claimed him on waivers
Nolan Patrick in the NHL - okay first two years, struck with some weird migraine condition that kept him ineffective
Scott Kingery in the MLB - huge potential prospect, signed to a big contract before even playing in the majors, does okay and has now fallen apart was sent down to the minors and had shoulder surgery.
No other Phillies draft pick in the last five years has turned into a reliable major league player.

It's absolutely insane. Philly sports are cursed. You can make the argument that Miles Sanders is the best and most consistent draft pick from all 4 of the big Philly sports teams in the last 5 years. And he's maybe a top 15 RB.

I've been saying for days that the Colts should just reach out to Rivers instead of trading for Foles...

Guess who announced today they might still have the fire to play one more season?

Would that be Philip Rivers by any chance? If it is it has to be a better option for the Colts than Foles. It immediately solves the quarterback problem for them.

Yep, Rivers has not ruled out one more season, saying he is already getting back into football shape.

How funny would it be if Rivers led them to a Super Bowl, I can't see it happening, but I'd pay money to see the look on Wentz face for that to happen. Wentz is another player I don't like, I saw him on the Pat McCaffery show, and he just come across as aloof and arrogant. Not a likeable person at all. I lay money he had locker room issues at Philadelphia.

This is probably wrong of me to say but Wentz just has a really punchable face.

Lol, I know what you mean, it's his whole demeanor that rubs me up the wrong way. There are two guys I've met who irritated me like Wentz does and that's Dolph Lungren and David Hasselehoff. I didn't like being in the same room with either of them.

Big day today! Football is back! Today is the first preseason game, the "Hall of Fame" game - Steelers vs. Cowboys. Supposedly Mason Rudolph will start at QB and play into the second quarter, Haskins will finish off the 2nd and 3rd, and Josh Dobbs will finish it off. Preseason football is usually garbage, but it might be interesting to see how the Rudolph vs. Haskins battle for the backup job and maybe future starter job plays out.

8pm Eastern on FOX.

Yes, the game that is being hyped for some reason. Big Ben led Steelers vs Dak led Cowboys. Yeah right. Dak already hurt and Ben will play one or two drives max. lol

That game does nothing or me, especially being pre season.

The only Steelers vs Cowboys game I have ever enjoyed watching was the 78 Super Bowl. I've watched it on DVD several times, the squads on both teams was ridiculous.

I'll watch, but probably not all of it. I really just want to see Micah Parsons since he didn't play college football last year. Maybe Haskins to see if he has really been as good as advertised in camp, but that's about it. They could've done two more interesting teams.

They would be the only two reasons I would watch it to be honest. I want to see how good Micah Parsons is.

I see the Panthers are still after Watson. Nobody knows yet what is on the table. There's talk of Sam Darnold going to Houston as oar of the deal. I doubt the deal will be anything like before.

This game is trash thus far. Back ups QBs doing check down after check down, defense blitzing more often than not. No sense of urgency, seems like both just want the game to hurry up and end.

There is no point playing those games, players must loathe them, they could get injured in a meaningless game and miss the season and also lose their place on the team. They need to be stopped so players can focus on the upcoming season. I know it's to test out the rookies and test plays but it's not worth it.Just a way for the NFL to make money.

Yeah the preseason always sucks. It's just a way to cut the roster down from 90 guys to 53 and for some guys to get "real game" experience.

Some preseason is decent to watch, but last night wasn't the case. Neither starting QB played even a snap, and the backups were absolutely dreadful for the most part. Rudolph made a throw or two, but most throws for both teams were in short yardage. Haskins looked better than last year, but I think he was scared to let it rip. Then again, also doesn't help that he was playing with backups, and I have to assume the Steelers OL backups are even more questionable than their starting O-Line at this point.

Big news today - Josh Allen (Bills QB) has signed a massive 6 year extension worth 258M, with 150M guaranteed. Absolutely massive deal, comes out to 43M per year that keeps him in Buffalo through his age 31 season. Hard to say if it's a good deal as he may regress. Also is going to make the Mahomes deal a bargain.

This has to have Ravens and Browns fans sweating as Lamar and Mayfield are going to want similar money and probably aren't worth it but the teams are basically forced into paying them.

Lamar Jackson has regressed or been found out, he was almost unstoppable a couple of years back. Mayfield is nothing special. I have to agree with sreelersrock01, they will get their money, teams saw what happened with Dak prescott. Power is now in the quarterbacks hands, I wonder when it gets to the point there are money caps on positions. At the current rate in a few years time no team will be able to keep a player after their rookie contract has expired as all the money will be going to the quarterback.
